TheWebAtom
People don't read the "Warning" strings. Most of the time they just skim them, or (usually due to language reasons) can't understand them. I get dozens of emails every week from people who deleted things they intended to keep, simply due to a failure to rtfm. I'm Shane.

Perhaps where one or more "Warnings" might apply there could be a one-off multi-choice technical question to determine competence to give "informed consent" to remove. Might be a useful feature if added to CCleaner or related products that I dare not name
Moderators Nergal Posted March 1, 2012 Moderators Share Posted March 1, 2012 You mean a Warning for the Warning stating Warning please read all Warning Warnings as they warn you of things you of which should be aware ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. pook1y7985
I agree a warning may be in order so people are aware of the caution. This may actually help people for those times when we get corrupted update files Windows refuses to re download. APMichael
RegKey2=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Tracing I thought the CCleaner64.exe knows where to look for a registry entry on a 64-bit system?! Does it only work with "Detect" entries? Do we have to change most of the "RegKey" entries now?

APMichael
It was not working for me on a Windows 7 64-bit system. It works fine on a 32-bit system. Good to know, thanks. I thought CC64 checks and deletes both paths (with and without "Wow6432Node"). With this new knowledge we should check the other winapp2.ini entries which include "RegKey".
