berdy
Clearmem - Microsoft Official Memory Tool (only 9Kb) This FREE tool clears out your current data sets in RAM. Basically it reclaims your used RAM Clearmem (clearmem.exe) Forces pages out of physical memory and reduces the size of running processes? working sets to a minimum. When you run this tool, the system pauses because of excessive high-priority activity associated with trimming the working sets. To run this tool, your paging file must be at least as large as physical memory. Put clearmem.exe in your c :windows/system32 directory, then go to Start -> run and type clearmem usage: clearmem [-q] [-d] [-mx] [-px] [-w] [-tx] -? : This message -q : Quiet mode - Nothing printed. -d : Debug break on Entry into and Exit from app. -m : Number of megabytes to allocate. : (default is to use all physical memory.) -p : Number of pages to read (must be less than 63). -w : Write to the virtual memory section. -b : Read and Write the virtual memory section. -t : Times to touch a page. **DEFAULT: clearmem -p63 -t1 http://www.harrrdito.it/download/showlink....name=Tools+Vari direct download http://www.pianetauniversita.it/down/clearmem.zip MyProgs This site allows you to keep a social list of the programs you use. Moderators rridgely Posted October 15, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2005 It's been a while since I have added anything to this list so I figured it was about time. Here are the new freeware programs that I have been using since my last posts. Media Monkey This is a great audio player for someone with a very large collection. It automatically scans your hard drive for music and organizes them into categories within the player. If you sit in front of your PC and listen to music a lot, this is the player to have. http://www.mediamonkey.com/ Jet Audio This is my favorite audio player for on demand listening. It has the best effects and equlizers out of any of the players that I have tried. http://www.download.com/3000-2167-10013740.html Creature House Expression This is a nice little art program with some cool features that you wont find anywhere. Its what Microsoft's new Acrylic is derived from. If you missed the Acrylic beta(its available with a time limited trial) than get this. (you need a .net passport) https://login.passport.net/ppsecure/uisecur...c=1033&id=42814 Seriff Aplications This company offers the older versions of its programs for free. You do have to give them an email though (just use your spam account). I use: Draw Plus 4.0Great for making posters, signs, ect. Comes with lots of templates and a great wizard to help you get started. Page PlusThis is a desktop publishing program for making cards, brochures, invitations, post cards, just about anything that would take tons of formating in a regular word processor. Photo PlusThis is a very feature rich image editing program. I use this in place of the Gimp because for whatever reason the Gimp dosen't like computers with built in card readers.http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/ArtRage A very cool art program that allows you to paint, draw, and color on various types of canvases. Very good for artists and fun for everyone else. http://www.ambientdesign.com/artragedown.html Hello A program that integrates with Picasa and allows you to share your pics with you friends. The images even show up in your friends picasa organized just like they were on you pc. http://www.hello.com/ Google Earth Just the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Try to find your house! http://earth.google.com/ Firetune Tweaks firefox and will make a back up of your profile. berdy
the TweakGuides Tweaking Companion The TweakGuides Tweaking Companion is the complete system optimization guide for Windows XP users. No longer do you have to put up with so-called "Windows XP Guides" which have a handful of Registry tweaks and some vague optimization advice - the TweakGuides Tweaking Companion brings an enormous range of detailed descriptions and resources together in one free 170 page downloadable PDF file. Everything from the correct installation of Windows and critical software and drivers, through to recommendations for every significant setting in XP, all the major performance, visual and convenience tweaks, and descriptions of XP's functionality. The guide includes comprehensive chapters on overclocking, benchmarking and stress testing, troubleshooting and regular maintenance procedures. Basically the TweakGuides Tweaking Companion is the mother of all Windows XP tweak guides and system optimization guides. Note: This guide was formerly called 'The Windows XP Tweaking Companion' (XPTC). The content remains exactly the same, however the name has been changed due to legal action by Microsoft http://www.tweakguides.com/TGTC.html Burn4Free CD DVD COPY The new free burning solution http://www.burn4free.com/
englishmen
Imgburn From the offical site: ImgBurn carries on from where DVD Decrypter left off! (Well, for the burning part anyway!) ImgBurn can write most types of CD / DVD images and it supports all the latest writers (including booktype / bitsetting on many of the major ones - i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, NEC, Plextor, Sony). You can even use ImgBurn to erase / format your rewritable media! ImgBurn will try its very best to burn your DVD-Video double layer images using the layer break you've specified in the IFO files, but it can also calculate the best place for you, to save you the trouble. Brilliant programs and of course from the UK
