(28apr07) Malwarebytes' RogueRemover Free updated to version 1.18.

 

Changes:

- Fixed minor bugs.

- Fixed minor typos.

- Packaged new database (version 126). RogueRemover Free now targets 325 rogue applications.

 

I appreciate you putting this out there as a freeware application, however continual updates may be considered overkill :rolleyes: Imagine all posters informing us of the updates to their suggestions...

here are my suggestions ;) . First, I think we should list the best that are nessesary for everyday use, such as openoffice, CCleaner,xpcdburn, avast, paintnet and spyware terminator, ect.. secondly, i don't think it is important to inform user that new version is came out because if they are actutally using the program then it will inform the user. :P hope that help

They have some goodies on their site! I'm liking ShellExView, especially since it was able to disable the WMP shell extensions which I have zero use for.

What is Medialyser ?

 

Medialyser is a software tool to help you identify the content of your media files.

It will be useful in the following situations:

  • If you want to identify the real format of a media file that was named with an incorrect file name extension. (common problem with files downloaded from the internet)
  • If the file does not play correctly (or not at all...) you can determine what codec(s) you need to install and/or configure properly.
  • If you need to know parameters such as bitrate or framerate of a particular movie to troubleshoot playback problems due to performance issues (your computer may not be able to keep up with high framerates, etc...).
  • If you want to estimate media quality, even before you finished downloading it...
  • If you want to know if you'll have to re-encode video and/or audio to fit a particular target format (vcd,dvd,...).
  • If you just need to display the details about a media file you are planning to upload (or share via p2p), so that people will know what they are going to download.

Medialyser does not rely on the operating system to identify files so it does not require any specific codec or library to be installed.

 

Supported Formats:

Stop Screen Saver is a small utility that sits in your system tray (next to the Windows clock) and prevents the screen saver from running.

 

Can't you just set it to none in the Properties tab???

I think it's quite handy, when you temporarily want to stop screen saver from starting. Of course i don't use it to disable SS permanently. It's more quicker to stop SS from running with that program, than going through all options to disable it and then again enable it.

 

If i example watch some long web streaming video from a distance, it's not nice when screensaver goes on.

Cannot download it, may be doing something wrong but it just loops back to the same page. No dnld link works. Tried several. Thanks for the tip, though, I'll keep checking.

The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-)

Sometimes getting the download to work is very time consuming, try the download again after a few minutes, hours, days.

 

That software package needs to be on a reliable download server like CNET Download.com, or Filehippo.com because downloading from their website will commonly fail.

It's nice that it's free, but it also crashes. It crashes too much for me, which is why I stopped using it in a very short while. But that crashing could've also been because of other codecs I have installed - don't know for sure.

Just tried and it is a messy site to navigate to the download. I was going round in circles but if you click on the 'Start Downloading SUPER' link, then on next page click on the 'Download and use' link and there are download links at the bottom of that page. I was gonna link directly to that page for you but the link just takes you back to the homepage :rolleyes:

Thanks a million, JD, with your help I found it, it is downloading now at the furious rate of 100 kps. . . :lol: . . .I think it is coming from a Commodore 64 server. . .but it is free and I appreciate it. :)

The only way to get that download is to have someone post the several links. They seem to have it hosted by other sites, and the only way to get the link is to reduce the security on your firewall.

 

For those of you who are trying Super, how is it going?

This is an excellent little tool to use to download from video sites. It downloads the file and then converts to a pre-defined codec of your choice.
