The link points to a blogger who obviously lifted all the images from another site about Socotra. How original of him. I saw the original site on Dark Roasted Blend on Sept. 3rd.

My friend with the printing problems has a paid version of Trend Micro antivirus.

Yes, that's my friend. I found her at Astroland in Coney Island eating a hotdog and crying for her Mommie so I took pity on her. I thought the Parachute Ride would calm her down but, kids these days.
She's really a very sweet woman I know on another board.

I recently noticed that when I print a page, it is so small I can barely read it. The size of the print is fine on my screen. I have the DPI set at 120 and the screen resolution at 1280 x 960, which has always worked well for me. To my knowledge I have not changed anything. I would appreciate any help as to how to correct this.
Oh, coming here behind my back, eh? Why I oughtta.....
Put em up! Put em up!
That's a link. You click on it.Your situation is being discussed in the following topic: -
I found that having the DPI is set at anything other than the default of 96 causes all kinds of display problems like windows not showing all of the information with truncation at the right of the window.
You mean small solid-faced dialog windows? I've been getting truncation for years. Thank God they've given just enough info for me to make the right decisions. And my DPI is set to 96.

I like the Google search engine. I do not like much else put out by Google. I'll pass.

Yeah but it's directly influenced by internet people, both good and bad. How long till spambots take control of this system?

(Friend with Vista, possibly laptop) "This problem has to do with the size of the print. The size of the print on my monitor looks fine, same as always. However when I go to print something it is so small I can hardly read it. To my knowledge nothing has been changed on this computer. I have the screen resolution set at 1280 x 906 and the DPI is set at 120. I even did a system restore. Any hints as to what may be wrong?"
(Corona) "Woah, printing is not my forte, or if you've been reading obscure blogs, my fort.
1280 x 906 almost sounds widescreen, possibly a laptop.
Try setting your DPI (back) to 96, if you have that option. (Right-click a blank part of your desktop/Properties/Settings/Advanced, under the General tab, in the drop-down menu, change from 120 DPI to 96 DPI) Of course, these are the instructions for XP."
(Friend) "Welp, I have always had the settings of 1280 x 906 and DPI of 120 on this computer. But I will try 96. But that prolly won't work as the 120 always did. I am going to bed now, so I will try it tomorrow."

Any takers on this?

I always read the instructions, no matter how inane.

System Restore (XP, Vista) is good. But ERUNT is.....biggerer. It's saved my butt on more than one occasion.
-
I don't use it often, but so far I've had good luck with RegSeeker. I read everything it finds. If I delete, I only delete the green marked items. It's gotten to the point that most stuff that shows up now are just regenerations of stuff I've deleted before so like I said, I don't use it much anymore. Same thing with Eusing Regcleaner, but I really look at all it finds with a fine-tooth comb since it doesn't have a "clean safe" mode like RegSeeker. I'm no programmer or coder. I'm a novice in PC stuff, basically, XP. But I've scoured through enough files and extensions and dlls and junk over the years to half-recognize whether an item should be left alone or trashed. As always, I err on the safe side. More importantly, I use ERUNT. And there's System Restore.

Nah, I'm a nice guy.

Yeah, but in bright evil red so it looks really different than your typical forum division. It should visually jump out and say ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE.

Wouldn't it be hysterical if every site listed there was phished? Especially the bank ones? I wouldn't trust a site like that even if it had a pic of my mom on it.

Antivirus 2008! Works wonders! It detects 300 viruses a day on my PC! I'm so glad I have this gem of a product! And I only paid $100US for it! Per month! And the money goes directly into a Nigerian bank account!
Seriously, I use Avast, because I like pirate language.

Just shoot them all.

Wow, that Remove Empty Directories app sure found a lot of empty folders. I dinna wanna touch anything.
-
RegSeeker 'greenlists' everything it deems safe to remove. It lists but doesn't touch unused file extensions, etc.
-
It's that "somehow" I'm trying to figure out.
-
I have tried Remove Empty Directories and it works quite well:
http://www.jonasjohn.de/lab/red.htm
It somehow knows which empty Folders should not be deleted.
"Somehow"? But you're YoKenny so that counts a lot with me.
I'll take a look-see.

I have 7z. I totally rely on it.

That's why an exclusion needs to be made for those folder locations, i.e.;
c:\system volume information
if there's another partition or hard disk:
d:\system volume information
...and so forth. Nothing should be left to mess with the System Restore files!
Another worrying factor with aggressive registry cleaners is them finding:
User Shell Folders, and Shell Folders - I've come to the conclusion those should never be messed with!
I've ripped Shell Temp folders left and right and in between and have never had a problem. Are you using Vista?
Do you recommend SUPERAntiSpyware free version?

I imagine the paid version comes with a 30 day free trial. There also is a totally free version of MBAM. Of course, less bells and whistles. But it's the one everyone raves about.
