When my old (yet still current) PC came with Windows ME, its built-in Windows defrag took 5 to 15 minutes. With XP on this same PC it's an overnight task. Easily +6 hours.

I'm so glad this was posted in the Lounge. I needed the laugh.
But really, I don't know if such a monster exists. If "Mr. Photoshop" Adobe PDF or Adobe Reader doesn't have that feature, what other non-graphic-based clone would even attempt such a thing.

The important thing is, we survived.

This Blackviper site looks fun.

So, no one's at risk, really. I mean, comon'. CNN.

That was how I got rid of QuickTime 7.1. It took me forever.

Symantec = Norton. Norton sucks. But deleting Services? I assume it's both safe and best to just Disable them. That way if you needed them for some God-forsaken unknown reason, you could Able them again. "Disabled" is like breaking their necks in a Schwarzenegger kind of way. "Could my friend have a blanket? He's just dead." They can't turn back on without your permission.

Did someone miss their date with Chavez?

I downloaded Open Office about 6 months ago and took a look around. It felt like I was wandering around inside a math equation. Weird apps.

So, it's not Fennec.

Hi Nuts!
I have CCleaneritus. Sort of like Tony Randall on speed. White white white is the color of our carpet!

Yeah, you gotta have Vista Aero and a widescreen to get the full effect of "black".

Actually Dennis, I don't expect any Rembrandts. Only MS Paint, using a mouse, we're gonna have a bunch of..........Picasso parking lots.

I have a fun idea. How about we all do our own desktops using nothing but simple Microsoft Paint and the drawing tools. No photos. No Wacom stylus pens & pads. Only the mouse.
Homer Simpson - "So what do you think, Lisa? Feeling stupid? I know I am!" (peels out in his car)

this is where I park my car to get to the beach
You park in a Picasso?

I have no idea. I just happened to find a pic of them that was big enough for my desktop. They're so weird looking.

You mean SUPERHappyFuntimeAntiSpyware? I never saw the 'wow' in that program. It never caught anything that Adaware or Spybot couldn't catch. And I don't even need them because I use CCleaner.

Right now it seems to be working with no problems for me. Certainly not as buggy as when I first changed from ME to XP. (I changed my system to Fat32 later on after CE2000 stopped working. That might explain some of this.
)
That's right, it 'became' Adobe Audition. Nice to know I got it for $80 instead of $350.

The last time I played with this app I recorded a Pink Floyd mix with Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Fearless, Echoes(jam), Pigs, and more Diamond. The real fun part was blending the songs together and lifting pieces of Floyd noises and subliminally placing them in other songs. And the Beatles 'Tomorrow Never Knows' got a noticeable slow-down as it played along (without reducing pitch). Talk about 'dead'.
Even without manipulation it's the best way to edit when songs start after one another. They can be perfectly on beat.
CCleaner Proper/safe way of use

The safest thing to do before you run CCleaners' registry cleaner is run System Restore (XP, Vista) and create a new restore point for your PC before you start. Another excellent restore application to run as double insurance is ERUNT.
CCleaners' registry cleaner is about the safest one out there, BUT, know your installed applications and system files better before you trust it to delete everything it finds. The good part is if you run "Scan For Issues", it will do just that. It will scan them. It won't delete anything. After it's done scanning, every item is checked for removal. You have the option at that time to uncheck items you're not sure about. If you see names that you're not familiar with, uncheck them just to be on the safe side. If at that time you feel confident about removing those other files, click "Fix Selected Issues". If you feel unsafe about the whole thing, just quit the program (X out) and nothing will be touched.
