  3. I've been toying with idea of getting an uninstaller program. As I've been playing with a few freeware programs recently, and Im finding it a chore going through the registry,%temp%, & %appdata% all the time when I deceide I don't like it. Do these uninstall app's work in the background constantly, or do you run them prior to installing a program? Thanks.
  4. Slightly of topic. Radiohead are from Oxford (UK), which is where I live. <--- Not that there up my boulevard, if you catch me drift.
  5. The link works ok for me. Try going to the Adobe website an entering "uninstall flash player exe" in the search box at the top.Should be the third one down. CraigM
  6. Uninstall the old version first. Use the Adobe uninstaller, then do a re-install with the new version. CraigM

  8. At the bottom of the msg there's a check box that say's "Dont show this message or lanuch system configuration utility when windows start". Put a tick in it, then it shouldn't appear again. Please note msconfig is a diagnostic tool and shouldn't be used as a permanent way to stop programs running at startup. Try looking inside the program itself to stop it, or use something like 'Hijack this' to remove startup entries. CCleaner also has a startup removal in the 'Tools' section. CraigM

  14. I'm not sure, but I think 'Talkback' is a part of Firefox. That's probably why you can't remove it. Talkback (scroll down a bit) CraigM

  16. Hi Icedrake I don't know if this applies to you to your computer! But I also have 'interVideo WinDVD' on my Sony Vaio notebook. I too was looking to uninstall unused programs, big mistake , it disabled my CD/DVD drive completely. Luckily system restore put it back for me, phew. You are warned! CraigM
  17. Have you got the PC3200 in slot 1, and the PC2700 in slot 2. Because you have 2 speeds of ram, your CPU will run at the slower of the 2 sticks. PC2700 in your case Are you running 'dual channel' , as Im lead to believe they have to be both the same speed. CraigM.
  18. Installed with no problems, nice. Are there any plans for a 'slim version' ? CraigM.

  20. Good to see peoples results and thoughts. I always found speedtest pretty consistent. But if its reliable, I don't know. Just tried that site Anthony, and my download was halfed compared to speedtest (up was the same). I also noticed it was java based, I think that's the first time I've seen the java icon in my system tray. CraigM.
