That is crapy to here. What version are you referring to? The pro version? I don't think there is a free version yet.

There is a new winapp2.ini released and it has an entry for Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 logs. The entry shows up in CCleaner but the logs are not cleaned. They don't show up in the list of items to be cleaned either when I select "analyze". I am using Ashampoo 6.5 and there are logs in the location that is supposed to be cleaned.

Hmm maybe it is Firefox issue. I did what you said but it didn't fix the problem. So I tried making Opera my default than checked for updates with CCleaner and Opera launched no problem and only Opera. Switched back to Firefox as my default and checked for updates again with CCleaner and again both Firefox and IE7 launched.

You can turn the service back on once a month to do the manual update. I do this with AVG AS. I keep the service for it disabled and turn it on when I need to update or scan with AVG AS.

They could make it a condition of his parole if he gets parole. Than if they catch him on a computer he gets his parole revoked for violating his conditions of parole. Once his sentence is fully served I don't think they can put any restrictions on him. He has done his time and is free to go. Of course if he pulls this crap again they will lock him up and throw away the key.

My problem isn't with Firefox. Firefox should open when I click the check for updates link in CCleaner because it is my default browser. The problem is that IE7 is also being launched and I do not see this with any other program just CCleaner.

When I use the check for updates feature in CCleaner it launches my default browser which is Firefox and it launches IE7. Both browsers go to the same page to download the update.

6.5 has "disk at once" mode which is supposed to burn gapless but it still has small gaps. Have you actually listen to a audio CD burned with 6.6 and verified it's gapless? So other than some extra ripping formats there doesn't seem to be a difference between 6.5 and 6.6.

I thought you might have tried this app out long ago. In this thread we had some discussion about IMG Burn and Ashampoo 6.5. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=13927&st=0 I settled on 6.5 over IMG Burn and many others. Does the new 6.6 burn gapless audio CD's like Burrrn does? 6.5 does not. Isn't there already a winapp2.ini for Ashampoo 6? It shows up in my CCleaner.

The "Automatic Updates" are for the Windows updats you get monthly. With that disabled you won't get notified when updates are available. Not a big problem as long as you visit the update site a maunally down load the patches every month.

So are suggesting to just edit the winapp.ini with the entry you provided or just pointing out why Spybot doesn't get detected?

The new Spybot S&D does not get cleaned by CCleaner. Maybe there could be a winapp2.ini entry made for it untill/if it is added again to CCleaner

I think I will hold off updating until 7.0 comes out free. I use a ripping program for ripping any ways.

Another difference between 6.5 and 6.6 is that 6.6 can rip audio CD's to MP3 where as in 6.5 you can only rip to WAV or WMA. Has anybody used the internal updater in 6.5 to update to 6.6? 6.5 is working well for me and I don't really need the new features. I might just wait untill they release 7.0 for free

I am feeling pretty much the same as you. I am not looking forward to this. Hopefully the free version will be stripped down version of the paid version or you can shut off the things you don't want to use. I have a bad feeling about this update. I will also be looking at Avast or Antivir if things don't go well.

I am going to have to go to the AVG web site and forum later and look into this and see whats planned. I wonder if AVG AS will still be offered as a stand alone app for people that don't use AVG AV 8.0? I wonder if current installs of AVG AV will auto update to AVG 8.0 ( I hope not)? I hope there is a couple months before they shut off support for 7.5. I hope all goes well and AVG has been excellent so I don't really think it will mess up this but you never know.

I don't know how I feel about this. AVG AV and AS work flawless for me now. This sounds like a major change and a potential nightmare like Ad-Aware 2007. I hope there is a nice long transition period before they cut off support for the current version. I want to see how the new version works out before I upgrade.

You still haven't figured that one out yet? That would be very annoying to me. I hate it when things like that happen and you seem to be the only one and there is no logical reason for the problem. Drives me crazy

Windows Defender works with Vista and although it may not be a great real time anti spyware app it is at least up to date. Another free real time app is Spyware Terminator but I'm not sure if it works with Vista. http://www.spywareterminator.com/ I am using Sandboxie now if I feel the need for a real time protection. It is much better at protecting you than definition based apps.
