  1. What if you rename/move/delete the prefs file from %AppData%? If I remember correctly, the history was clean when I deleted the file. You might also have to remove the regkeys.
  2. Valve has just released Steam for Linux. Steam Linux Sale
  3. At least with CS6 the "recently used files" are stored foolishly. I found them in registry: HKCU\Software\Adobe\Photoshop\60.0\VisitedDirs and in file: %AppData%\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings\Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs.psp I don't have Photoshop installed anymore, but what I remember removing regkeys is not enough. I had to delete also the .psp (settings) file.
  4. What I've read, MSE ain't so good. I've been using (and recommending) Avira mostly. I'd recommend avast! over AVG, though.
  5. Nice. I've been using http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ to determine if the problem is in my network or is the site down.
  6. Not sure yet. Probably many small files. Mostly docs & pics, but also Thunderbird profile/emails, Firefox profile, some (portable) tools etc password/profile files. I'll check it out. I've been using FreeFileSync (portable version) to backup/sync manually my USB-stick (contains many tools etc). Gonna try installed version FFS. It says in features that it has: Automate sync as a batch job
  7. If I want to backup just certain files & folders (probably from a few partitions), not the whole partition/drive (I don't mind reinstalling Windows), should I use backup software like Macrium which creates images or just "sync" software (like FreeFileSync) which backups as files/folders?
  8. Which redirection? Where did you download CCleaner originally? There's not v4 of CCleaner yet. Though the latest version is 4.00MB in size.
  9. Are you using AdBlock+ or similar? These addons often hide paid/ads in Google.
  10. I haven't installed CCleaner in a while so this is nice to know. I mainly use the portable and/or paid version.
  11. Did you download it here http://www.piriform....ccleaner/builds ? Installer or Slim? Are you sure you don't have Chrome installed already?
  12. Do you want to make backups as folders/files or as images? I should/been searching for a good backup software, but haven't had the time to find one yet. Have you checked these: http://www.techsuppo...ing-program.htm http://www.techsuppo...-backup-program http://www.techsuppo...ion-utility.htm I've been using FreeFileSync to backup/sync my USB-stick.
  13. v3.19 is 8 months old, but it's true with v3.19 and the latest v3.27. CCleaner offers Chrome, unless you install the Slim or use the Portable version. You've probably used Slim or you have paid version which autoupdates itself.
  14. I've been using FEBE and MozBackup to backup my Firefox profiles (not just bookmarks, but you can choose to backup just those).

    wrong SSD temp

Which SSD do you have? Most SSDs don't have temp sensor.
  16. For those who use VLC: VLC Media Player ASF Processing Buffer Overflow Vulnerability http://www.videolan.org/security/sa1302.html
  17. Also v1.2.0 for svchost.exe Lookup Tool http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/tweaking_com_svchost_exe_lookup_tool.html
  18. How do you use free version to clean over network? You could check Trim which can be found in the first post of Winapp2.ini
  19. Which version of CCleaner are you using? Also is it paid or free?

    New HD vrs old HD

About a week between these tests. Yeah there's a bit less space, but I don't think the speed change should be that big. My friend's test with same SSD, older firmware: Difference between our 4K QD32 read is huge.

    New HD vrs old HD

You can see what happened when I updated my SSD firmware (release notes say better performance): New firmware OldFirmware As you can see, read speeds increased a bit (only Seq & 512K) with new fw, but write speed decreased alot.
