  1. Can you post the contents of that reg files here, if it's not too long?
  2. HP bought Palm - they didn't make it. DennisD >> Isn't it Lenovo ?
  3. Sometimes it asks you if you want to install Chrome, sometimes it's the Google Toolbar. That's how Piriform earns money. The Slim build doesn't have any adware in the installer, that's the only different thing.
  4. I thought Windows deleted the oldest files first when the PF folder becomes "full"...never tested, though.
  5. Probably. That's rather sad, but Adobe's consumer-oriented products have reached the point where rewriting them using guidelines for "safe" coding would be a better option...
  6. CCleaner is a quite safe Registry cleaner. A lot of other cleaners will find more ; however, it also means they can harm your computer by removing valid Registry entries. You won't get a performance boost from cleaning the Registry anyway (unless you had hundreds of thousands of invalid entries, or serious problems). And all those paid Registry cleaner are aggressive - their goal is to say "if you buy me, I'll fix 192203848274 errors and boost your performance by 220434983% !".

    Drive Wiper

Well, delete the files, and then run CCleaner with secure delete enabled. One of the things CCleaner cleans is the Recycle Bin
  8. You should create a new thread for that If there is a way to do that, I think the Winamp forum will be more helpful...this is the kind of thing that has to be built into Winamp.
  9. If I'm not mistaken, you can split big hard drives in multiple partitions and boot from them. Not sure, though..
  10. CCleaner would have to scan all exe files on your drive, see their metadata, compare this with the entries in HKCU\Software and HKLM\Software, and see if something has been forgotten by an uninstaller. And that wouldn't give good results - Firefox stores some of its settings in HKCU\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\, for example.

Maybe you could delete those files securly in the first place? Wiping the entire free space to erase a bunch of files is overkill IMHO.
  12. Flash, a browser plugin, has nearly as many vulnerabilities as Windows 7. Something's wrong here...
  13. Please send a PM to MrRon or MrG
  14. Yup....the Drive Wiper needs some explanation.
  15. There are two options on the new wipe tool - erasing only free space, and deleting all data forever.
  16. You can be confident nothing else will be erased ; however, unless you have deleted very important files and do not want someone to be able to recover them, there's no point in wiping the free space.
  17. No offense intended, but that would be...kinda...stupid.
  18. If you really want them, use Resource Hacker, Visual Studio, etc. to extract them
  19. And, of course, you'd need iTunes to use it.
  20. Try the portable version: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds However, if your boss knows you use CCleaner, he might wonder what you are doing during work...

    CCleaner 3

Now that's nasty. Toolbars are useless, period.

    Drive Wiper

There's no difference. Which is why I posted a suggestion to remove WFS from the Cleaner section.
  23. Yes, but the installer installs everything (including CCleaner64.exe) in C:\Program Files (x86)\ if it's an update from CCleaner 2.x
  24. Don't forget a special Defraggler version to defrag your Etch-A-Sketch And a Recuva version to recover your lost sketches.
