Try Defraggler's boot-time defrag (Settings >> Boot-time defrag >> Run Once). If it doesn't work, try Mark Russinovich's PageDefrag : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897426.aspx

Paste the following into Notepad, save it as "fix.reg" (WITH the quotes). Double-click on the file you just saved, accept the prompt, et voil?. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVG\Avg9]

On avast!'s French website, "Learn more about Internet Security" is cropped in French "En apprendre plus sur Internet" which means "Learn more about the Internet".

It took a long time to download on my computer too...I guess Microsoft's servers don't have enough bandwidth. ...on second thought, I wonder what amount of bandwidth it takes to deliver a 1 GB update to hundreds of millions of computers

I like the tweaked UI except for the text reflections...but once again their French translation is very poorly done (although they have fifteen million French users)

Type set into a command prompt.

Why? The answer is obvious....weeks before Firefox Beta 15

Mozilla delays Firefox 4 Beta 12, option for Beta 13 on the table (ZDNet)

Yes, that's why I like HaoZip...the icons are quite well-drawn.
-
Why don't you try HaoZip (or 7-zip if you want an English-compliant archiver)? 7z is better than RAR anyway.
-
I had guessed that - but many people don't want to pay for a archiver.
-
Well, WinRAR nags you if you don't pay (IMHO the only "missing" thing in HaoZip is favorite folders like 7-zip...)
-
For those of you who don't like 7-zip's Win9x look...a nice free archiver from China, HaoZip: As a bonus, it has a batch rename/replace tool, can do MD5 checksums, convert images, convert archives, merge MP3s (although I don't see when you'd want to do that), it has an image viewer, and skins. And an x64 version . The English translation has some mistakes, however (but who cares?) Download Skins (the page is in Chinese)
-
Search 7-zip on deviantArt. There are lots of patches for icons/zip icons/etc. HaoZip looks nice, too: http://www.neowin.ne...-haozip-226302/ [EDIT : Just tried it...really nice.]

@redhawk >> If you take the time to include <!DOCTYPE html> to trigger IE9's Standards mode, it works. Of course, when there's no doctype IE treats the page as some old relic made for IE6, thus triggering Quirks mode. (sorry if I seem angry - I'm just fed up with people posting examples of "something IE can't do" without checking IE renders their code in standards-compliant mode). Anyway, IE9 has full support for CSS3 selectors. :before, :after, :nth-child, etc. are all supported.

I think they should focus on battery life rather than on actual power. Seriously, who needs a quad-core CPU in a tablet?

ROFL @ Rouget. He complains about the IE Test Drive being non-representative (of course it isn't - if Rouget actually took the time to read what is written above the chart, he'd know that), and then quotes html5test.com and caniuse.com, which are testing drafts and non-standards such as Web Sockets, IndexedDB and WebGL. I don't think a company that describes their product as "the World's Best Browser" (source: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/#feature-personalization ) can be trusted when talking about its competitors PS : There is a way to add your own CSS style in IE; however, it does not support per-domain or per-site rules.

Well, Speckie's creator said a week ago on the Neowin forums that he was waiting for the RC to be released before updating Speckie, so I guess it will soon be updated.
-
Speckie can show the "red lines", but it looks like it doesn't support IE9 RC yet.
-
Yay! It works. Thanks Hulk

That changed recently - last time I checked it was completely free. Sorry . I hope the new Tracking Protection List feature will work as an ad block.

I'm also getting a 403 now =( using a proxy to post this. (My IP is 188.155.75.147)

AdBlock Plus >> Simple AdBlock Spell checking >> Speckie Two useful IE addons (not sure Speckie's current version supports IE9 though)

I don't think that's Windows Firewall's fault...it probably is AVG's. Please post in the Spyware Hell section (don't forget to read the "Before you post" thread first): http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showforum=12

That's not the end of it - a beta 12 is also scheduled. And it might not be the last. I can't help laughing at Mozilla's ridiculous roadmaps. They are always late, yet they still insist on doing a precise roadmap. Can't they do it like Google or Microsoft and ship it "when it's ready" ?
