  1. Good stuff MrG. Nice one.
  2. NO! It is not safe to remove those items that are listed. It would defeat all the objects of installing them in the first place. Uninstalling programs using the Uninstall feature of CCleaner will have the same effect of using Windows Add or Remove, the same files will be deleted during the uninstall because they are both accessing the same uninstall feature of a program. CCleaner does tend to show other entries that Windows Add or Remove does not though. However, any updates for Windows components are most definitely required to be kept.
  3. So how is it all going with setting Thunderbird up to use all those accounts? Here is some help about setting Thunderbird up with Gmail, just to get you started: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13285 Edit, The added bonus is, you will be able to use Thunderbird's junk mail settings to avoid all the spam that you might be getting.
  4. Thunderbird will be able to be used for your 17 gmail accounts, it will work for your Outlook account, and it will work for your 2 ISP accounts. It might work for your Yahoo account, (this has always been debatable, I use Thunderbird to check my Yahoo accounts, but others always say you need the paid for Yahoo). It will definitely not work for your Hotmail account, (at least that is the case for me). Anyway, 17 gmail accounts????????
  5. Click Tools, Go down to My Config, Then either Save Text, HTML or BB Code (whichever you want), or Copy Text, HTML or BB Code (to post in a forum you would choose BB Code).
  6. Eldmannen is possibly talking about a thread that Tarun started when he was a member here, about certain items under the Advanced section of CCleaner such as Prefetch and Hotfix cleaners that have no warning displayed when they are selected to be cleaned. The thread disappeared yesterday.
  7. I agree with rridgely. If it was me I would set Thunderbird up with gmail as the default email account.

  9. No worries. Have you tried it yet? It does come in handy, for instance if you have webcam chats and you want to capture what you are seeing, if you know what I mean.
  10. LOL, well this could go on forever now at this rate.
  11. Yeah, I have looked at 1and1, they are favourites for the domain name, but not the hosting at the moment. The funny thing was, I could not remember whether it was oneandone.com or 1and1.com so I googled 1 and 1. I was not expecting the answer I got, I forgot that google did that sort of thing.
  12. Any uk'ers here have a website, that has a proper domain name and is hosted properly. The choices are so perplexing. I want cheap(ish) hosting but with decent space and bandwidth. I want a domain with WHOIS Opt-out. I don't mind buying them individually, even though the hosting will probably come with a domain name. If it does and it has WHOIS Opt-out then all well and good, if not I can use that domain for something else, then buy a domain that does have WHOIS Opt-out for using with the hosting. I take it any domain can be pointed anywhere, regardless of whether it came in a package. Does anyone know more about this sort of thing?
  13. You will not be using Vista? Ever? You'll be redundant around these parts one day then, as people progress from XP to Vista, which will happen, it might take years but it will happen.
  14. No worries cowboy. You would of been helping me if I could of got any errors to appear my end.

    CC BACKUPS

I keep them until at such a point I decide I have so many, that I really should delete some (I tend to forget about them accumulating). Then I delete any that are over a month old. To restore them you do indeed just click merge.
  16. Are you trying to register here?: http://www.avast.com/i_kat_207.php?lang=eng#register-form If so, everything should go ok. You do not need to fill in the whole of the form, just your email address twice, your location and your name should suffice.

    Firefox Add-on

You might know enough to know you know nothing, but try installing it on somebody elses computer who really knows nothing, they would soon be on the phone to you asking why they can't get on certain webpages.
  18. CaPMan don't have a cap, let alone a thinking one.
  19. I somehow doubt that. Although it would be a nice gesture.
  20. Well......... .....to quote Piriform themselves....... "The best software... is free"

    Firefox Add-on

Just remember that when a web page has functions that are not working or even fails to load at all, then it is probably NoScript causing the problems. I love NoScript as well, I just could not put it on anybody elses computer, as much as I want to, because they would not have a clue what is causing the problems.

    Visual Style

Do you have a link for the theme res45?
  23. Merry Christmas to everyone at CCleaner.
  24. Definitely, otherwise you could run into conflicts between the two, which could do more harm than good.
