  1. In work we have six network cables coming out of the wall by the router, five of these are for network points around the offices, the other one is for the CCTV cameras. The router has the standard four network ports, three of which are used for three of the network points and the forth is used for the cameras. Somehow I would like to get the other two network points up and running. We have another router (generously supplied by our ISP, but we don't know why), can I connect the second router to the first somehow to enable me to achieve what I am trying to achieve? I could google, I know google is my friend, but I am trying hard to clean an infected computer at the moment and it was just another thread on here that spurred me on to ask the question.
  2. Ah, that may or may not answer my question. I'll start a new topic so that this one don't go too far off topic. I must remember to set OpenDNS up on my new router too.
  3. What is a 2 router bridge setup? If it is what I think it is then this is something I need to be doing in work.
  4. You never removed the link in the post by joanie707 though Dennis, her post quoted LuLu's.
  5. If you have removed Norton then I would suggest you run the Norton Removal Tool just to be sure everything is gone. Norton Removal Tool Not saying this will help matters but it is worth doing anyway.
  6. No worries kaybee. Thing is, I knew in my case it wasn't a router problem and wasn't going to be fobbed off. I also like to baffle them by suggesting things that it could be and by providing them with info before they ask, the sound of silence at their end is heaven, you can almost hear the ticking. Then they suggest putting you on to someone more suitable at dealing with such problems (obviously because the script they are following does not apply). Anyway, is it all working ok for you now kaybee?
  7. I found it easy to decide, but I won't say whose I voted for.
  8. Browser: Firefox Anti-Virus: Avast (I do fluctuate between Avast and AVG) Anti-Malware: MBAM, SAS, Spybot and SpywareBlaster PDF reader: Foxit Image editing: Irfanview and Photoscape Burning software: Trying new things here (mainly stuff that Andavari suggests) Office: MS Office Audio: WMP Cleaning: CCleaner, JavaRa and PureRa Website creation: Kompozer FTP: FileZilla
  9. I hate all the other mouse pointers, they bug the life out of me! Working on a laptop for a friend this week resulted in seeing a running horse for ages instead of the hour glass, I soon changed it back to it's default.
  10. Looks like you have just bumped it Dennis, I've just added my birth month to the poll.
  11. My most simplistic yet I think, my daughters eyes.
  12. I'm not sure that I would buy a new router kaybee, I personally think it is still a problem with Virgin. I have suffered the same thing recently, but I lost my connection for a whole week, the first day that I lost it I tried three different routers, the problem was there no matter which router I tried, numerous phone calls to Virgin did eventually lead to them admitting that it was a problem at their end. I don't know why it took them a week to get it sorted, but luckily things have been fine since. I even got a courtesy call from them a couple of days after it was sorted to make sure everything was still ok, which surprised me. Ask them if it is an authentication problem, maybe even suggest to them that they reset your login details, because this is what they kept telling me the problem was. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted soon.
  13. I don't like animals btw.

    Laptop overheating

One of my laptops was suffering from shutting down due to overheating problems recently, so I took the casing off underneath cleaned the fan the best I could, put it all back together and the problem continued. Soon after I bought a new laptop so I thought I would take the old one apart again as I could spend more time on it, this time though I removed the fan which was held in place by extremely small screws, lo and behold there was a large amount of dust that I had not spotted before, cleaning it thoroughly has now meant that the laptop is as good as new. Before the cleaning it could not even be left idle on a flat surface, it had to be stood on end, now it can be left on a carpet, the bed, literally anything and it never cuts out.
  15. Got bored of looking at snow so it was time for a change.
  16. 'get it' has loads of radio stations, all UK based but might work in other parts of the world. The latest news headlines from around the world can be found on there too. I need to check it out and update it though.
  17. Happy New Year people, I can't believe I am already one and a half hours into this year. It is going so quick, before you know it, it will be 2010!
  18. Voted! The one that I have voted for was one that I had failed to see previously, so I am so glad I looked back through them.
  19. I know you will find what you need on the link below for XP 1984, but not so sure it will still work on Vista. I could boot up my Vista laptop, but it is late and I am thinking of going to bed soon. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/win_xp_passwords.htm
  20. Merry Christmas everyone, I hope it's a good one.
  21. Just downloaded the standalone version and it is working fine for me.
  22. Looks nice but I don't like the fact that the numbered buttons don't actually give you any indication of where in the site you are going to be going to. Hovering over them shows that they all go to http://piriform.com/#, it is not until you click them that you see that they go to: 1 - CCleaner 2 - Recuva 3 - Defraggler Maybe I am being fussy though.

    Imageshack

I see it fine right away using IE, SeaMonkey, Safari, and Opera, but had to refresh twice with Firefox. Edit: It also shows up first time using Google Chrome.
