Interesting article. Ofcourse you cant trust your spyware cleaner to 100% clean your computer. They are tons of spyware and new spyware is developed all the time, and there probably is alot/some spyware less known than others highly-known spyware. Nothing is 100% secure, nothing is fool proof there is always a risk with everything you cant expect it to be detect 100% everything.

Try enable it and measure the performance then disable it and measure the performance. What is the factory default setting? You probably should have it enabled.

I think that people who live in a house that they own themself are more likely to get power problems. When you live in an appartment in a big house, (I live in a 13 floor building) it most likely have something that leads the thunder to the ground and protects the house from electrical problems.

I find it very very strange that CCleaner would slow down your computer. It removes unneeded files and temporary files and crap and should speed up the computer. Maybe you installed something else on the computer that slowed it down.

Well, atleast CCleaner cleans some parts of the registry, thats good and I like it. I am happy with it.

You can run it as often as you want or as often you prefer to feel its needed. Me myself dont use it all too often, once every 2 weeks or once every month is probably fine for me.

Microsoft made a tool called RegClean, it is pretty old now and unsupported but probably pretty decent if you run Windows 98.

You probably should avoid using the .gif format as much as possible. And as for animated graphics its often considered very annoying.

I know nobody with UPS, I dont think many home-users do use it, I think it is more corporate uses who use it such as for servers and things. Also, I guess it depends where you live too, example if you live in an own house then it might be needed but if you live in an appartment in a big house complex then probably not very needed.

Motherboard seems good, it has SATA support, it support Athlon64 which is the CPU he intend to use, it seems to have 4x slots for DIMM which ensures possibility to upgrade more RAM in future if nescesary, it has gigabit network interface, and even RAID support. He also dont need buy soundcard because the motherboard has a built-in sound card. Unless he play powerful games he wont need a graphics card since he can use the on-board one. Even has a hardware firewall -impressive-.

For short time away from the computer stand-by is fine, but for extended time, then shut it down is better, or if you want to resume what you was doing, then hibernate instead. DjLizard, why dont you have it auto power off the monitor after a while, or goto standby and turn of parts of hardware, that way your hardware would last longer, your would get cheaper power bolts, you would save electricity and would be better for the nature.

The graphics looks impressing (however, sometimes companies release screenshots from videos or just some picture instead of actual in-game screenshot). The XBox 360 probably is very good technically. But I wouldnt buy it, because it comes with DRM (Digital Rights Management) or as some call it "Digital Restriction Management". It makes it impossible to play any unauthorized copies (what companies love to refer to as piracy) of a game. They also have silly ideas to sell game-content like, example you start the game with some cars, but if you want the better cars, you have to pay and it gets them online.

I think most forums have some sort of feature that delete posts older than x days. Example, 30, 60 or 90, not sure. This board is IPP (Invision Power Board), maybe that site says anything about it.
