  1. You can just put the CCleaner folder or where ever you installed it on your USB drive and it will run from there. You can setup the option to save your settings to CCleaner.ini. The only difference between the normal version and Glenn's download link is it has the additional language dll's in the zip.
  2. When I checked my recent doc in Word after I had done a clean they weren't cleaned and I have my Office 97 is ticked even thought I'm using Office 2000. So what does this matter?
  3. Welcome to Piriform gladel. Just don't use it if it bothers you that much.
  4. Hi abh. Well in previous versions you should have the same options. Click on Options and Advanced and you should see an option to Show prompt to backup registry issues make sure its checked. Then it will ask you if you want to backup the registry issues it removes.
  5. Well Tom at work I use a very old version of CCleaner but I've setup the newest version in my own folder, and in the old version when I disable Run (in Start Menu) and it always removes the recent documents. This isn't a serious problem but we need MrG or admin to reply to this.
  6. Not I don't use TweakUI because I'm using Win98SE. Have you tried a search on here for run history?
  7. Sorry a misunderstanding of history. Yes I have my Run (in Start Menu) ticked and it always deletes mine.
  8. All of these use Microsoft Agents. I make programs that use Microsoft Agents its for fun.
  9. Hi Tom. I only have my history set for 5 days and I always tick the History checkbox. After I Run Cleaner and I check my history folders its removes everything except the current day. But if I run it again it then removes the current day. I'm not sure it doesn't work on yours, I presume you using WinXP?
  10. No it was a special build 10 years ago.
  11. Yes just delete them all under [Recent File List]
  12. Hi Harry. I presume your talking about saving pictures of web pages. Well this will depend on the site you are looking at. The majority of web sites use jpg's but some can use gif's or even as you say bmp's. You just have to save them as bmp's and convert them later. This isn't a CCleaner problem its the web page format or your browser settings. If you right-click on the Piriform logo at the top and select Save Picture As... it will save it as Logo.gif.
  13. If your only using it for web browsing, documents, music and no gaming why do you want a better graphics card? My PC is 10 years old and I have 4 PCI slots and an AGP slot.
  14. Because I don't have admin rights on my WinXP at work I zipped up the Recuva folder and the CCleaner folder and unzipped them to their own folders in My Documents. CCleaner works as it should no problem. When I run Recuva and click on Scan it brings up an error message at the bottom Access denied. Do you need to have admin rights to run Recuva?

    rtclib.dll

Welcome to Piriform trhall. I use Win98SE and I have rtclib.dll on my system. RTC User Agent DLL, 4.2.4949.1074 built by: QFE Something installled it last September. If you can't find it on your system let CCleaner remove the registry info.
  17. Now I've been using Recuva for 9 months or more. A couple of days ago I downloaded the lastest version. The first time its run it shows the Recuva Wizard which has an option to Do not show this Wizard on startup. If you check this option then the Next button isn't enabled only the Cancel button. Now to me a Cancel button means forget it and close the app. Now I've been writing programs for years and if I wrote Recuva then I would have the Next button or a Continue button. If the chkWizard.Value = 1 then (if you have checked the Wizard option) then do something else continue to open Recuva as normal. I don't know what anyone else has thought of this option. Any comments are welcome.
  18. I have all my applications checked. I haven't found any difference between office apps. The only thing I've noticed in WinZip is the extraction folder names are all blank, no problem.
  19. It does Six. There was a bug in the older versions, which version are you using? The older version would restore the file but it had zero bytes.
  20. Welcome to Piriform firewall. That shouldn't really matter if you have the Empty Recycle Bin option checked, they will get deleted totally. Bak files aren't that important.
  21. Welcome to Piriform Irfan. CCleaner does list by name, which you can change if you want too. Why would you want it listing by date? You either want to uninstall something or you don't. No thats been installed for years I may as well uninstall it.
  22. Reinstall the software. Before you remove any items from startup that you think you may need Run: Msconfig and look in the Startup tab. That will list all programs that run on startup, just remove the ticks for items you don't need.
  23. Welcome to Piriform Debby. I shouldn't think that CCleaner would cause any problems with cleaning the registry. I would make sure your system restore is functioning and up to date. Then if you find any problems or things don't work correctly you can always do a system restore. Make sure that in Options\Advanced that Show prompt to backup registry issues is checked then you can always save a reg file for what is removed. You just double-click on the saved reg file to put the registry back have it was before.
  24. Welcome to Piriform Jan. I think you've posted in the wrong forum. Thats a CCleaner question. Repost or let admin move it for you.
  25. Welcome to Piriform lucosta. I use AVG and I have all the options ticked. It doesn't delete the actual update files as such it just deletes the log files that the update makes. Your AVG will perform as normal.
