Moderators hazelnut Posted May 29, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 29, 2021 Quote Microsoft released Microsoft Edge 91 yesterday, and since then, users have been reporting constant nag screens, bugs, and problems using the new version of the web browser. The most annoying issue that people are experiencing is a new Microsoft Edge nag screen continuously shown on startup asking users if they want to 'Use recommended browser settings.' For some users, if they close the dialog or specify not to update the browser settings, the nag screen continues to show when they restart the browser. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-edge-91-brings-new-bugs-and-annoying-popup-messages/ See here also. Moderators Andavari Posted May 31, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 31, 2021 I prefer the old original Edge but it's now dead. I don't like the update schedule for Edge Chromium, it's too rapid and we're more-or-less testing it for them. A more sane update schedule for it would be monthly via Windows Updates. Moderators nukecad Posted May 31, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 31, 2021 I don't like that MS insists on giving me multiple updates for Edge even though I don't use the thing. Yes I know other MS apps use it - but I don't use them (or don't use the bits that need Edge) either. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators Andavari Posted June 1, 2021 Moderators Share Posted June 1, 2021 If deactivating the updates then in a short amount of time there will be an outdated vulnerable version on the system, and who knows if a newer version will be installed when doing the once or twice yearly large Windows Upgrade since Edge Chromium has it's own update separate from Windows Updates.
