Moderators hazelnut Posted May 18, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 18, 2012 Just wondered what other Windows 7 users do about indexing and Internet Explorer History. If you open Indexing Options in the control panel and then click the 'modify' button you will see Internet Explorer History is ticked by default. I know you can just use something like 'Everything' instead but wondered if anyone just unticks the IE History option. Moderators Nergal Posted May 18, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 18, 2012 I may have changed it to do this, I don't remeber doing it but that's not uncommon, but my indexer excludes %appdata% and offline files ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. nikki605
I have left the IE History option checked. I use the Win7 search function a lot, but mostly for finding files by their contents. I installed the Foxit PDF iFilter since I have a lot of documents scanned into PDFs. Just wondering - do you see a potential problem with leaving the IE History checked? eL_PuSHeR
I have indexing (Windows Search) totally disabled just because Total Commander is my main file browser tool.
