CCleaner removes Indexing Preferences

Recommended Posts

Hi all

In the "Indexing Options" widget from the control panel, I untick "Internet Explorer History" because I use Firefox.

However, I noticed that if I run CCleaner the "Internet Explorer History" entry is re-ticked!!

Anyone know which option in CCleaner I can uncheck to override this behaviour?

(I have "Applications | Windows | MS Search" unticked)

strange I clean ie history and don't lose my preference to not index history, maybe the is a setting in internet explorer I've used to make it so.

also just because you don't use ie doesn't mean windows doesn't. it's especially good for your junk cleaning purposes to clean that section as you've no need at all for the junk left behind.

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
