Hav0c
I also nuke the non-English lang files. As for a Detect I use only this (on old XP 32-bit): Detect=HKCU\Software\Malwarebytes Interesting will look into that Detect. Thanks Andavari. EDIT: Weird, after a clean, clean install of v3.2.2.2029 it does create that detect now. (Windows7 x64) Will use that from now on. Every line of code written by man can be undone by man . siliconman01
Remove entries [Malwarebytes Lng*] and [Revo Uninstaller Pro Lng*] I do not recommend that these two language cleaners be added to the public Winapp2.ini. There are totally user dependent based on a user's location. Users of Winapp2.ini could inadvertently remove their user profile language for these two programs. We have never included language files in the past. This type of file should be maintained in custom.ini by individual users of CCleaner. Hav0c
Understood, But it got placed in the last update Post 6403 above. Well find it strange that it did as some people do know that Section=Language Files (Custom Section) should never be added to the public Winapp2.ini..... ROCKNROLL
Understood, But it got placed in the last update Post 6403 above. That would be me and my stupidness. ROCKNROLL
Is there a separate collection of language file entries for winapp2? Maybe we could make a Winapp3 topic and then write all more aggressive entries there, including language entries like these. I am a maintainer for Winapp2. Moderators Andavari Posted September 21, 2017 Moderators Share Posted September 21, 2017 Maybe we could make a Winapp3 topic and then write all more aggressive entries there, including language entries like these. Problem with that is this is a public forum and someone not paying extra close attention could copy those entries and have undesired results, such as with lang removal entries that could wipe out their needed non-English lang for a software. Hav0c
Is there a separate collection of language file entries for winapp2? No there is not . Problem with that is this is a public forum and someone not paying extra close attention could copy those entries and have undesired results, such as with lang removal entries that could wipe out their needed non-English lang for a software. I second this. Yes, I know I posted entries to nuke non-English language files and I am sure that some people out there did not read the warnings and their native language was nuked and did not know what to do. Moderators Nergal Posted September 24, 2017 Moderators Share Posted September 24, 2017 Please review this issue: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/issues/105 I agree that looks too agressive. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. PICPro
Something to check in Winapp2.ini: There are two entries ( [bus-Simulator 2009*] and [blueSky Interactive*] ) with =%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files\ ... that probably should be =%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files*\ ... to cover 64 bit systems unless these are 64 bit apps only. Perhaps someone with either of these applications could check it. I don't have either but it looks like an oversight. Also there are a number of entries containing: =%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\ProgramFiles*\ that probably should be: =%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files*\ Perhaps those entries could be checked also. PICPro
The only one I can personally confirm (because I have the software) is: [Maintenance Service*] LangSecRef=3026 SpecialDetect=DET_MOZILLA Default=False FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Mozilla*\logs|*.* FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Mozilla*\logs|*.* FileKey3=%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\ProgramFiles*\Mozilla Maintenance Service\logs|*.log FileKey4=%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Maintenance Service\logs|*.log which should be: [Maintenance Service*] LangSecRef=3026 SpecialDetect=DET_MOZILLA Default=False FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Mozilla*\logs|*.* FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Mozilla*\logs|*.* FileKey3=%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files*\Mozilla Maintenance Service\logs|*.log FileKey4=%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Maintenance Service\logs|*.log The other 5 entries are: [10 Years After*] [1000 Amps*] [140*] [1954 Alcatraz*] [Tribes: Ascend*] I don't have any of these programs to personally verify if there is an error there. They are all "Steam" games. Maybe they are weird that way. The other Steam games in Winapp2.ini are correct though.
PICPro
New Entry: [Canon Digital Photo Professional 4*] LangSecRef=3021 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Canon_Inc_IC\DPP4 DetectFile1=%ProgramFiles%\Canon\Digital Photo Professional 4 Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Canon_Inc_IC\DPP4\DppMWare\Cache|*.*|RECURSE This clears out the thumbnail cache in DPP4. Eventually there will be entries for pictures no longer present so it makes sense to clean out the cache from time to time and let it regenerate with use.
