Moderators Nergal Posted July 30, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 30, 2016 Any updates on this issue? It's a pain to launch CCleaner with 2k entries on the winapp2. VOLDEMORT has a trim function but it doesn't preserve the some of the checked item for Google Chrome. Hi, we don't really use the name of the greyware you mentioned so I placed our usual name for it into your post. However afaik the TRIM function you speak of is trim.bat. do you have items in your ccleaner checked off from the winapp2 file Could one of the entries in your winapp file lost one of its brakets "]"? because we have a lot of entries with the word "more" in them and I see that is the command you say MSDos is "barfing on" Please copy the output of your command prompt which shows the error. Have you attempted to open a command prompt as admin and open the bat from within the CMD. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. I'm sorry i'm not really active in the forums I didn't know it's not allowed to be mentioned. Do you have items in your ccleaner checked off from the winapp2 file None as far as i can tell (or as far as I understood). Could one of the entries in your winapp file lost one of its brakets "]"? I'm still using the default winapp2 directly from the site (winapp2.com) so I assume it didn't lose those brakets. Have you attempted to open a command prompt as admin and open the bat from within the CMD. Yes. Still the same.

As I've always ran trim every time it gets updated i have always kept it that way. Anyway... I managed to get a screenshot of the error i'm getting before trim.bat closes. It gives those errors every time i try to run it. http://imgur.com/a/GgjGo

If that doesn't work, try putting the trim.bat in the exact same place where Winapp2 is (looks like you have it in a folder called TRIMMER now?). I am a maintainer for Winapp2. Moderators Nergal Posted August 3, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 3, 2016 @qwerty77 is there a chance you are opening the bat in a text editor, and resaving it. I re-read the batch file in my browser and noticed every "MORE" in the file was directly preceded by a new line I may be messing this up by doing this but I deleted the new line in front of each more Attached is that bat, could you run it (from an open admin prompt) I tell me if it barf's. @Alan_B had returned for a bit, maybe he can help out. most of these commands in the bat go WAY OVER my figuratively tall tech-head. CSGalloway
1) It might be wise to see if %windir%\system32\more.com actually exists 2) also might want to try running a full antivirus scan....
qwerty77
1) It might be wise to see if %windir%\system32\more.com actually exists 2) also might want to try running a full antivirus scan.... 1. Yes. I do see "more" on system32. 2. I'm pretty sure i don't have a virus on my pc. I run a quick scan daily and a full scan periodically. UPDATE: I think i solved my own issue. It's has something to do with Environment variables. Somehow my system changed it (or i changed it) to a random path. When i changed it to the default path... I actually got the trim.bat working. Wow... sorry about this issue i made which clearly was my fault lol. Thanks for all who assisted me anyway... siliconman01
Modified entry: [Config.msi] Removed: DetectFile=%SystemDrive%\Config.msi so that this entry shows up when using a Trim.bat even if a Config.msi is NOT present at the time the Trim.bat is executed. The reason is that the Config.msi folder could be "stuck" at any time when installing a program after the Trim.bat is utilized. ROCKNROLL
I have done enough testing before I recommend these changes. Looks like Windows 10 build 1607 is affected. What if we moved them to a separate entry called Store More* and put a warning that it will sign you out of Store and such? Store cache and temp files build up quickly if you use the Store often. I am usually never signed into Store to begin with, so I don't see this happening. I am a maintainer for Winapp2. I use the store often, and you don't have to be signed in to use it, either. Re-read what you quote that I said (emphasis added) "IF YOU DON'T USE THE APP THE WAY A NORMAL USER WOULD". The implied statement is that most everybody who uses a computer, stays signed into the store, and, unlike websites, rightfully should NOT expect to lose their store login from using an entry provided here. They expect their search history to be removed or things like that. Besides which, I thought it was recently decided that more* entries should be reserved for entries that double winapp1.ini entries not doubling winapp2 entries (but maybe I made that up idk spoiler alert: it was literally less than a month ago). Would "Store Extras*" be acceptable? Anyways, what I meant by what I was saying was that, since I am not usually logged in, it isn't a problem for my system. That's why I recommended moving to a different entry and add a warning.
