Off the bat I'd say you downloaded these apps from unknown websites and are thus being scammed with malware. The most trusted site for downloading trusted software is http://www.filehippo.com/ (Bookmark or Favorite this link.)
Go to http://www.malwareby...alwarebytes_pro and click the Download Now button (not the Buy Now button). Download that free version & run a FULL scan. Delete or quarantine any junk it finds.
And by all means report back here with your results.

So basically Java is just a fat piece of s**t. Couldn't say that 10 years ago, but I guess its platform has gone the way of the dodo.

I dumped Java, and only once in a blue moon I'll pass something on the web that won't run, but nothing I must absolutely see or have. I even have the Java Deployment Toolkit in FF disabled. No problems on my end.

As much as I love XP, that's why I moved on to 7-64 ( skipping Vista). XP is definitely a role model they should base/compare future versions of Windows by. It was a definite hit.

I think MSE is really meant for 64bit systems. I mean systems with 6 to 8 gigs of ram, they could almost, almost, almost handle Norton or AVG!
XP 64bit, I bet MSE would work well in that.
