  1. That site was shown as having a Revoked Security certificate. It was also blocked by Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Edge Chromium because of that Revoked certificate. The site owner will need to get a new certificate issued before browsers will stop blocking it.
  2. Yes, but when you run the installer it will try to install on your main drive unless you tell it not to. When you run the installer click 'Customise', then 'More', and enter the drive where you want it to be installed You may be better using the Portable version which doesn't need to be installed at all and so can be run from an external drive or even a memory stick. Simply unzip it (or just open the zipped folder) and double click on CCleaner .exe to run. https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
  3. Ken, You've posted on a year old thread but not to worry. I believe that your problem is that you are still using Windows 7 and the Standard CCleaner installer needs later technology. CCleaner still works fully on Win7 but you will need to install the latest CCleaner on Windows 7 by using the 'Slim' installer which doesn't contain the advertising screen(s) that Win7 doesn't like. You can find the Slim installer here, third one down: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
  4. The Avast/AVG/Piriform offers during an update/install are pretty visible these days, and are not pre ticked. I haven't seen Avast VPN offered during an install, but do recall seeing it on a pop-up offer in the Windows notification area, have you maybe clicked the wrong thing in that pop-up? Here is the sort of thing that you get in the installer: (But be careful of the Chrome offer, that one is pre-ticked and easy to miss if you are not paying attention).
  5. It's simply the way that computers work, see the following explanation. In particular I would check if you have your browser synced. And more particulaly if you have your browser set to pre-load in the background when you start the computer. 'Live Tiles' on your start menu - weather, news, anything like that that shows video or updates - will also put cookies and temporary files on your computer. https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/52668-tracking-files/?tab=comments#comment-300043
  6. I'm not sure if you are saying that you now obtained a key for CCleaner Mac? If you do then AFAIK you enter it in the same place as with the Windows version. Options>About>Upgrade to Pro, enter your registered name and key and click the Register button. To avoid typing mistake copy/paste from key from the email.
  7. I don't use CCleaner browser myslef, but that page I linked says - "To change the default search provider:" Is it not doing that?
  8. Sorry if it came across like that, we never know how experienced or inexperienced any new poster is so tend to err on the simplistic side.
  9. Agreed that the dumbing down has gone too far. But in the case of duplicate files you have to use your own brain to decide which you want and which you can get rid of. I don't know which copies you want to keep, and any software certainly doesn't - you have to decide that for yourself.
  10. It's called 'Duplicate Finder'. (Not Duplicate deleter). It will find duplicate files, and show you where those duplicates are saved. It will show all versions of a file, the original as well as any duplicates, so it won't let you just delete everything. Duplicate Finder can save you hours of searching, but it can't read your mind. There is no way that any computer programme can know which ones you want to delete and which ones you want to keep. So Duplicate Finder won't do that. You have to look at the results yourself, and decide for yourself if you want to keep something or not.
  11. In these days of shielding/isolation at least someone (some-thing) is still remembering you.
  12. I thought so - it's a problem with Trend Micro. More than one user has reported that once Trend Micro is updated to 2020 then CCleaner works as expected again. Updating Trend Micro from within Trend Micro itself will tell you that you are up to date - but you may not be. You may have the 2018 or 2019 versions of TM, so while that version is up to date itself it is not the latest TM version. You may need to download and install the TM 2020 upgrade - go to this page to 'grab' the 2020 upgrade. https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/maximum-security/home.aspx If that still doesn't clear the problem, try Whitelisting ccleaner in Trend Micro 2020 following the directions in this post https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/57702-ccleaner-not-working-after-update/?tab=comments#comment-317617
  13. I've never seen that one, but yes it's just a marketing reminder for anyone using the free version for business.
  14. Good to hear that you got it working.
  15. Ah, I think that we may know the issue, which antivirus are you using?
  16. Don't mean to tread on your toes Nergal but i thought those links were better removed.
  17. From the free version- From the Pro version- Which one are you seeing?
  18. We need a bit more information. What you describe looks like a Windows version issue. (Maybe you have Windows 10 but set for compatibility with an earlier Windows version?) We'll assume that this is a new CCleaner download so v5.65. Which Windows version are you using? Is it set for compatability with an earlier version? Which anti virus are you using?
  19. Which AntiVirus are you using? (I'm betting on Trend Micro 2019 or possibly McAfee).
  20. Nobody has given an answer yet. But as a quick answer then yes - just dismiss the notification and carry on, CCleaner will work as normal. The '@' and blue names just mean that I've flagged this topic to Dave and Stephen who are Piriform staff members, to see if they have any knowledge of why this may be happening to you. Because I've done it like that they will get a notification to pay attention to your question as soon as they log on. As it's currently 30 minutes past midnight in the UK that may not be until tomorrow, they may already be in bed.
  21. Never heard of that before. All I can think is that maybe the previously used motherboard has come from a business computer that used to have CCleaner business edition installed? Or maybe something else is flagging it as being a business computer? @Dave CCleaner @Stephen CCleaner any insights on this?
  22. Go to Options>About and click on the blue 'Upgrade to Pro' button. Enter your registered name and licence key and click on 'Register'. PS. The name must be the same name that you registered, and many people make mistakes with numbers/letters if typing in their key - copy/paste it from the email to avoid that.
  23. Long filenames have always been a problem with Windows. And as it's a Windows / OS problem then what any software can do to help get round the problem it is limited. https://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/how-to-fix-filename-is-too-long-issue-in-windows/
  24. You did say in your original post that it was downloaded software, you didn't mention anything about photos.
