  1. I guess the title may scare you off but I can't edit the title or can I?
  2. This is very informative. I hope our anti-malwares are up to the task!
  3. A few things! The "3" refers to most recently used. I also have six permanent, so if I set that value to zero I'd have nine. I suppose with a smaller font/icon size I could have more. The down side of disabling all taskbar baloons is there maybe some you actually use. I kind of like window updating baloons which give the option of following the downloads or installations or just continuing to work. Also, will this across the board disabling, disable warnings from your programs in the notification area? Also, if you want to make something permanent, right click it in the recent section>pin to start menu!
  4. For that particular baloon: Right click start (or a blank area after you open your menu)>Properties>Costomize>Advance Tab>In the Program area, limit it to 3 or less!
  5. I liked the look of the gui, that is why I posted the question. I haven't tried it, however, if any positive feedback comes in I will.
  6. Through help menu or http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

  8. I mostly use web mails now days and my PopTray/K9 setup accurately notifies me of legit pop3 mail and blocks all spam. However, having said that, K9 catches at least one or two randomly executed spams of the type abcd@yada.whatever per day, originating I presume, from spambots and it's getting old. I'm about ready to just close the account. Do you all think these spambots can ever be stopped?
  9. Thank you TK! lol, here is the story on the anti-spywares: I have license from work for SD and actually just turn it on periodically to update. I was not going to renew SS but when SD v5 came out there were a ton of problems so I renewed. AVG A-S two minute memory scan returns leaked RAM. Can't explain it but it does it. WD likes to create restore points, kind of like it watching out for me! Last but not least, I back up with Ghost10. Thank You again!

  11. So here is my file! Well that didn't work, so do I post a screenshot?
  12. Two questions: Without any evidence of malware present, there is not a need for this, correct? Secondly, out of curiosity, what forum would you all recommend for posting a log?
  13. Extremely professional looking, great job!
  14. I have one observation even though I've never touched it. Although the updates seem to have gotten quite, for several weeks I'd come home from work, check the freeware sites and there would be a new version. Awful tempting but I've been able to resist!
  15. I just download everything to the desktop with whatever Firefox defaults with. Never had a problem and at my 5mb connection can't really see it happening any faster than it already is. So just what do they do?
  16. My oldest daughter opened her Boston College (she's a doctoral candidate) epostcard of some sort email with her sister's work notebook the other day and it was a trojan/worm (my doom, I guess). My younger daughter did have Norton and I guess it went crazy stopping it from sending out more infections. They called me in a panic at work! In some respects it was somewhat humorous their reaction, at first I thought they'd been in an accident or something. We still aren't 100% sure they stopped it. Anyway, watch out U.S. for 4th ecards today!
  17. I'd done all of that, including AppData, not to be found! Never installed anything from Agnitum either and doubtful installed by anyone else, however, not impossible. Still can't find it thought!
  18. Although I use 100% web mails now days, I still get mails from family and e commerce sites in OE. I was looking for something I stored in an OE folder and there is ST. I never installed it (nor had I ever noticed it before) and besides my combination of PopTray and K9 cuts spam off at the pass. It doesn't seem to be bothering anything, just would love to know how it got there and how long it's been there. I looked in Program Files and it's not even in the OE folder. Any theories?
  19. So I don't even need HotKeys...?
