  1. Are any of you guys using IE 7 Beta 1 by any chance? And if so, do you know how to uninstall it? Sorry, wrong forum...just realized.
  2. It was a joke. PI = personal investigator & ok ok lie was your name from the anagram website in the lounge. Nevermind. I'll keep my jokes to myself.

    xpy 0.9.5

I guess, but I could adjust those features/services myself, and probably faster (only because the display box is so little it's difficult to read). Some of the tweak options seem useful. I thought you'd like it because it's little. Good Times!
  4. You must be bored. You probably had to search through a lot of posts to find that one. Good job! Can I call you PI ok ok lie?

    xpy 0.9.5

Good luck!...my computer's tight now. Nothing is getting into this baby.

    xpy 0.9.5

I downloaded it to look at, but it's kind of odd. There are way too many boxes to check, and without instructions. Some of the options just looked like tweaks, some (I don't know what they do), and quite a few options to disable services that shouldn't be disabled. I guess that I assumed it would be useful because it's on mj's top Feb list. Ooops! My bad I guess. How about you test it out for me, and tell me what you think.
  7. Where?!? I've seen them yet. You asked to get picked on ccleaner profressional user.

    xpy 0.9.5

Majorgeeks has xpy 0.9.5 on their recent list of freeware. It's a tool to disable default threats of WinXP installation, and closes recent security holes. Shouldn't updates provide the same service, or is xpy 0.9.5 a good/needed addition?
  9. Will you make paragraphs please because your posts are getting very difficult to read. Thank you.

    Backup

Well, first of all, if you unchecked something CCleaner didn't remove it. Also CCleaner doesn't remove anything in System 32. As for restoring backup registry you can restore any backup that you saved. Just pick the one that you want to restore (remember that if you don't have admin permissions to login as admin). My guess is that running CCleaner without a check mark on old prefetch data didn't cause the program. If you go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer this will give the error code to your problem which could help pinpoint the solution. Good Luck, K
  11. I figured it was a onetime freebee. But do you luuv my picture?
  12. Hi Oldboy, this thread may be of assistance. Feel free to post any additional questions. Reading the Beginner's Guide also can answer many questions. In addition, I think that Peter was trying to post his own thread, but somehow posted in your thread instead. http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=3674 Hope this helps! K
  13. I've read that link before, but I don't really understand. I suppose that I don't understand Andavari's post either because he said "HKCU" is user profile's history so I assumed that the two were related. I'm honestly not familiar with user profile's registry. I usually play around in all of the other parts. I will do some research, and try to understand it better.
  14. Yea!!! Thank you, I love it!
  15. We are talking about differnet things. But my XP setup floppies gave me the option to repair or upgrade. So would it accomplish the same thing? I'll come back tomorrow. I'm too tired, and can't think. Sorry for any confusion! k
  16. In the future when you scan for issues look for WMPCD (HKCR\WMPCD) and uncheck it. It can't hurt, and it's what I do.
  17. So deleting HKCR\WMPCD would cause that to happen?
  18. You can download the floppy setupdisks from the MS website. Requires 6 floppys total. I made mine a month ago, and forgot.
  19. Yeah you're right about that, and from what I read on MS support Roxio is the reason that people's D & E drives keep disappearing.
  20. If I were you I wouldn't take that route. Wait until an expert helps you. Have you done any investigating at http://support.microsoft.com I personally am not familiar with your problem, but I would encourage you to be patient. Side Note: Two hard drives is always a good idea (quote from loikike). Good Luck!
  21. I've learned my lesson. I'm not clicking on your links anymore.
  22. Hi Product53. Were you logged in as admin when you tried dial-a-fix...if not, that could be why it didn't work for you. K
  23. System error 5: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256299/EN-US/ Permissions: Yes logon as administrator. Are you using Windows 2000?
  24. I clicked the link too. That's disgusting! Tell me you found that on accident.
