  1. too bad IE isn't standards comliant . see the website below to see what i mean. Opera already is and Firefox will soon join Opera in its 3.0 release(or so i've heard). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid2 edit:btw, i've also tried Maxthon. if we were to talk about IE shells, then i would say that Avant Browser > Maxthon
  2. i love metal and only metal. i recently found out about a show on Adult Swim called Metalocalypse. it ROCKS. the band in the show(Dethklok) makes some pretty good songs too.
  3. i posted a link to that program in another thread
  4. http://www.softpedia.com/progViewOpinions/12-2-261,.html take a look at the bottom edit: i think the guy with the most recent post was paid to write that Advanced WindowsCare was nice
  5. that looks horrible. you might wanna make your colors 32-bit .
  6. http://www.godaddy.com is a very popular website for buying domains. if you like wrestling, then you might wanna check out one of GoDaddy's commercials featuring a WWE Diva edit:as for hosting, free hosting like GeoCicites is always and will always be crap. you might wanna take a look around for paid hosts that can get the job done.
  7. i've had a similar problem. Microsoft just isn't very good at solving bugs. anyways, my problem happened when i replaced the folder icon via Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types. the only thing that actually worked for me was a System Restore
  8. if starting the service doesn't work, then kernel streaming is the way to go
  9. if you want to disable explorer's tagging support, then do this. go to Start > Run and type this in "regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll" this removes explorer's reading of mp3 tags(ID3), but it still retains the ability to make music folders. i don't see a point in doing that since there will be no change.
  10. there's a free resigtration page on the main website where you get one edit: well i have to say that i am very disappointed. after days and days of waiting, i got the game(the dl was pretty fast via BitTorrent btw) and i installed it. after i did however, i found out that my graphics card was not supported. i have a GeForce4 440MX and after i installed it, the readme says that it only supports GeForce4 Ti series and higher. This pretty much means that i can't play it without spending money for a new one. well i don't even care anymore. i'll just try to search in vain for another good free game.
  11. that must be why Opera went into not responding mode
  12. synced lyrics are lyrics that have timestamps. sync is short for synchonization
  13. it's true that the .net framework is widely used nowadays but a lot of people don't like it because it takes up a LOT of space. i've even heard it takes up more space than OpenOfice.
  14. anyone know a website that has those? i've been looking around and i haven't found one lately.
  15. i think that this program can do what you want. but it requires the .net framework http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Down...ownloader.shtml
  16. new desktop here. nothing much changed. i just made the icons bigger and a new sexy wallpaper. enjoy! edit:bah. ImageShack resized it
  17. http://www.joinfear.com/us/ you guys cannot imagine how excited i am about this
  18. you are right about it not being an issue if you only use 1 media player. however, recently, some programs such as amaroK have implemented ID3v2.4 so i guess this could be a sign that more programs will support it in the future. but for now, that's how it is.
  19. that's pretty much what sucks about the whole ID3 standard. the ID3v2.4 standard has been out for 5 years(6 now i guess) and hardly any program supports it.
  20. by newest build do you mean 0.9.3.1? because if memory serves me correctly, those aren't available to Win98 due to it not supporting Unicode
  21. WMP is notorious for not writing tags. i once burned Cannibal Corpse's The Bleeding to mp3(using LAME of course) and when i tried to tag it, it somehow tagged it but foobar2000 showed no change in the tags. basically, nothing was written. so i suspect that WMP uses some kind of metadata system where the metadata is stored somewhere else and not in the files. but really, you should use foobar2000 for all of your tagging needs. well 0.8.3 isn't that great(i believe you use Win98) but i guess it should get the job done.
  22. i've been using RegSeeker for months now and it's done no harm to my system. however, it cleans more entries than CCleaner does. so if you do worry about cleaning your registry, then CCleaner is better because it cleans registry entries that are actually safe to clean.
  23. well, Picasa works. it even has the option of whether you want to Crop it so that it fits or if you want to resize it . but the resizing option kinda sucks because it makes pictures smaller. oh well, at least it doesn't crop it as much as Windows Does
  24. i am currently in need of a program which can print 4 pictures onto 1 piece of paper. Windows XP has such functionality built-in. however, it cuts up the photos which made me lose my head on one picture. i'm also thinking of unregistering the dll so that i don't have to deal with that again. so, anyone know of any such program?
  25. works in Opera as well. but i don't use the bookmarks toolbar so...
