  1. sounds like a router issue to me. but then again, ?Torrent does have UPnP support. what do you mean by locking up? btw, please don't tell me your ISP is rogers edit: i pointed out the errors in BitComet but i guess i'll do it again. BitComet is a client which completely abuses the BitTorrent protocol. it updates the tracker every 5 or 20 seconds(which puts a HUGE load on the trackers since more than one person is using the tracker.), it hammers the peers(it prevents them from disconnecting and harasses them), it doesn't seed very well(believe me, i've ran torrents that had BitComet only peers which seeded slow as hell), it has bad DHT-support(does not respect the Private flag of Private torrents and therefore exposes the torrents to other people that use DHT), and some other issues.because of that, a LOT of trackers BAN BitComet from even connecting. i guess the only nice thing about BitComet is that it's great for downloading. and i think that's about it. edit2: wow, i just looked at the trusty wikipedia and it seems that BitComet is even worse than i knew. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitComet#BitC..._DHT_Criticisms

    IE 7

you don't really get it. i couldnt' get anything. not the menu bar, not the tab bar, not the right click menu, nothing. i only got the first toolbar which is for the address. but after i reinstalled IE7, the issue was fixed. IE7 is really buggy.

you what also, i'm starting to hate IE. i just lost my menu bar and my tab bar and i can't seem to get it back. this is sweet!
  4. http://www.visagesoft.com/products/pdfreader/index.php it's a free PDF reader which can serve as a replacement for Adobe Reader and Foxit. so, anyone wanna try it and give feedback? i'm wondering if this one is better than Foxit.
  5. ugh, there's a reason why i used batch processing for the titlename of the topic. basically, i want to avoid GUIs. @Andvari: calling IrfanView by itself it possible but limited to i use a .vbs file to fix the filename. since the right click menu will only open .bat and .exes, i have to do it like that. or i could just make a C++ program to do that but that's too much work.
  6. i downloaded it yesterday along with NConvert but i don't know how to use NConvert which is a bit of the problem. also, i fixed the issue by having a .bat file which launches a .vbs file which launches IrfanView which launches PNGOUT. it's messy but it works.

  9. i think only your router because windows is set to auto-acquire the DNS server. and the router is the thing that lets windows access the internet. i am a user and i have noticed some speedup by using it(i'm using cable though).

    IE 7

chances are that IE3 will also be included in SP3
  11. that's why there's Avant Browser and the newer coming Orca Browser
  12. currently, i'm a big fan of PNG compression and the only tool out there that can compress PNGs like they should is IrfanView. however, since i don't like using GUIs for simple operations, i just make custom command via "Folder Options > File Types > PNG > make new action" to do w/e i want. in this case, i want to recompress a PNG image and rename it as well. the current command line is this. "C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe" %1 /convert=%path%\%random%.png there is only 1 problem with this one. let's say the filename is "sshot-1.png". my desire is to name the recompressed one "sshot-1-compressed.png" but the problem is, i don't know how to do that so i've resorted to using random instead. so the question is, does anyone know how to do that? edit:fixed the code tags. i can't believe i put /quote instead of /code
  13. if you find one, mail it to me
  14. i'm using comcast as well and i don't get any issues. of course if you just need help, uTorrent has a friendly IRC channel(i, myself, am there everyday).
  15. you could always try changing to a better client such as ?Torrent so that you won't have to deal with those issues.
  16. F-Secure is total crap. it may have a good anti-virus scanner, but i don't want 16 processes running for just an AV and a Firewall.
  17. Registry Explorer This program integrates itself into Explorer and lets you browse and edit the registry with explorer. say goodbye to regedit! http://www.regxplor.com/
  18. or just use the Character Map
  19. you would most likely need an emulator to run it. actually, through a bit of google searching, a .u32 file doesn't seem to be something like a game.
  20. also works with Opera . well, except you have to identify it at Mozilla(due to Google complaining about Opera). but nevertheless, it works.
  21. Shareaza is very nice since it's the only decent Gnutella and Gnutella2 client that i've seen. however, i believe that it also has problems since some trackers have Shareaza banned. not sure what it has problems with though. i also use Shareaza btw. i tried out Gnucleus but that one barely worked so i'm sticking with it.
  22. my 2 cents here. do NOT use BitComet. it is the most horrible BitTorrent client to ever exist. it hammers the tracker and the peers, it doesn't respect the private flag on all torrents(meaning that unregistered users can gain access on private torrent sites), and it also has some other various problems. i, personally, recommend ?Torrent . i've used it ever since version 1.2 and i will never go back to using another client.
  23. it could be also called liquid plasma . but lava is a liquid. it becomes solid after it erupts. edit: uuuughh i don't think that oil can mix with water. putting oil in water is just a physical change. it doesn't change the oil itself(chemical chamge). edit2: but then again, you can't really separate oil from water once it's already in there since...it's near impossible.
