  1. I don't think I'm that bad. Well obviously, given I've only just been bothered by it. Winapp2 entries are alphabetised, surely it's a simple thing to expect from the actual program itself (would look more professional than the seemingly random order it currently has too IMO)
  2. Ok I know this is probably the OCD pedant in me, but surely the tickable sections (and possibly the menu sections) should be in alphabetical order?
  3. I would argue it's NEVER been a safe assumption, I can remember it causing issues as long as I've been using computers. Admittedly not a LOT of issues, but certainly enough issues for long enough for the message to have sunk in that you can't judge a file's value by it's extension.
  4. I wonder why so many USERS still think that anything with a .bak or .tmp is immediately safe to delete.
  5. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/41.0.1/releasenotes/ Hoping the flash hanging bugfix works, Firefox has been a nightmare for locking up on flash pages since the last release (anyone else remember when the plugin container process was first introduced to supposedly stop plugins bringing down the browser? That's worked well hasn't it )
  6. I can only presume that's why he/she was banned, didn't see anything remotely spammy about his/her postings, seemed to be trying to help (in a rather hard to understand way)
  7. That program is not affiliated with, or supported by, Piriform, and is therefore not discussed here. Take up those issues with them .
  8. So you want to use an ini file (a settings file) for tips and discussion of entries?! That's what this forum is for. And also use it for entries that aren't safe to use? If they're not safe they shouldn't be anywhere near CCleaner. Someone please tell me if I'm misunderstanding this stream of consciousness
  9. Appreciate the enthusiasm but appears to be multiple issues. Your winapp file adds tranlated file locations, I don't believe this is necessary. Plus it seems you've arrived at these items by simply searching by file extension, not all .log and .tmp files are necessarily safe to delete. And not sure the purpose of your winsys file, or its list of recommended software (not what an ini file is for), and its list of entries which in your own words are too dangerous or not understood. Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding your reason for posting it.
  10. Have I got a clone I didn't know about that's writing tech articles?!?! Couldn't agree more, or have worded it better. Excellent article (and not just cos I agree with it 100% )
  11. I've not used DTA for years so not that bothered. Then I read "Gone will be add-ons that e.g. let you change major bits about the Firefox user interface". And I swore. Out loud. No more Classic Theme Restorer??? B***** it
  12. Another update, slightly more substantial this time: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/40.0/releasenotes/ Not a fan of the mess the unverified addon warning makes of the addons page though:
  13. Doesn't mean others haven't also had an issue with it and haven't reported it, or haven't realised the cause. Unless siliconman can clarify the issue I'm not sure it should be changed (yet)
  14. Should be Detect1 and Detect2
  15. Hence will not be added, we don't remove reg cleaner backups, for obvious reasons
  16. Agreed, not junk and should not be removed by CCleaner. Removing those files is a specific fix for a specific issue, not an every day clean
  17. I still regularly get stuttery playback trying to run 720p (or above), where Flash videos run at 1080 without issue. Hopefully there are improvements still to filter down from the nightlys. Ah so the article SHOULD have read "Mozilla blocks OLD versions of Flash by default". Never let the facts get in the way of a scare story eh
  18. Not until HTML5 video works reliably please
  19. I really tried hard to read those links, but my brain just kept melting from all the PR speak
  20. I have the opposite with tray icons - whenever I restart explorer I have a couple of tray icons show up that are set to hide
  21. You're right, I just looked, it is mentioned, but ONLY on THIS PAGE. I've never seen it used anywhere, so dunno if it's internal code that has been left in the documentation accidentally
  22. Nope, dead as a dodo in Firefox. Loads in IE though.
  23. Ah right, I though you meant a new version had been released. I guess that would have been obvious if I could have read the link but the link (and forum) is dead.
  24. Where is it? The newest version on your site is 2.5.0, which is from 9 months ago
