  1. Nergal, the site still states: [Updated March-03-2020] Edit: Nevermind, he forgot to change the date on the site, however the downloaded HOSTS.zip file has a 3 May 2020 dated HOSTS file in it.
  2. The previous zip Portable version 5.65 is still on CCleaner.com, just not listed, here: https://download.ccleaner.com/portable/ccsetup565.zip
  3. New entry: [AOMEI Partition Assistant *] LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Partition Assistant Default=False FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\AOMEI Partition Assistant\log|*.log
  4. If only that was the only thing to block, I've got a list a mile long of URLs I block which to me more-or-less proves Avast up to something. A single product like CCleaner doesn't need all those phone home links to function or report data back - in my opinion.
  5. Thank you. However the slow startup isn't the only issue though, I was only curious about the new version for about 20 seconds.
  6. Portable software can save anything it wants such as settings (cache for portable web browsers) in their own unique folder to re-use - it's however a big no-no if they save outside of their own folder which in that case calling them portable wouldn't really be correct and in that case they should be labelled as "no-installer" instead of "portable." But to be clear CCleaner Portable is actually portable.
  7. Confirmed. I reported it a few minutes before you did in another topic. Edit: It's like it can't just gracefully abort/cancel/ignore the integrated web-based "stuff" in Health Check, etc., so that it doesn't hinder startup. It's the reason I downgraded yet again for another reason.
  8. Blocking via HOSTS file and/or Firewall causes CCleaner v5.66 (the version I tested) to take a very long time to launch, at least 10 seconds.
  9. Try the Slim build installer from this page: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/builds
  10. Older versions are located on FileHippo, located on the right-side of the page: https://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
  11. They don't have for forum to my knowledge (couldn't find one, although there is a contact page). Also the author is a member on this forum.
  12. I've split these posts into a unique topic since it had nothing to do in the other topic in which it was posted.
  13. I had suggested they create a page, but I don't think they care to have a webpage for XP/Vista users. So my response was to create this at the very end of this pinned help topic (so it's at least documented with information): https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/5739-solution-when-ccleaner-wont-install-or-download-windows/?do=findComment&comment=303883
  14. I'd imagine at some point Automatic Updates will re-gift you (and everyone else that hasn't installed it as of yet) with Edge Chromium rather you want it or not.
  15. If you can write it in English you "may get help faster".
  16. VBA32 is now also detecting all freeware builds: Standard, Slim, Portable. ----------------------- Scan Logs: Jotti Detections Against CCleaner v5.66: * Slim Build (3 Detection's): https://virusscan.jotti.org/en-US/filescanjob/fqylv4rvj9 * Standard Build (3 Detection's): https://virusscan.jotti.org/en-US/filescanjob/2py0yc5fxm * Portable ZIP Build (3 Detection's): https://virusscan.jotti.org/en-US/filescanjob/x9n4nw0xw0 Detection's By: ESET, Ikarus, and VBA32.
  17. The only thing RAM related you'll see in CCleaner is informational, it's located near the very top of it where it gives system specification information such as this: Windows 10 64-bit Intel Core i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz, 16.0GB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 620
  18. That doesn't look at all like a legit Microsoft installed program that would come with Microsoft Edge.
  19. Hence the reason I posted those links. Most things for Chromium should work, unless they've did something very different.
  20. If Windows doesn't see it as a device you can open normally like how you can open a USB flash drive or USB disk drive the answer is no.
  21. As long as they have the correct file extension renaming them wouldn't make a difference. If they're actually intact it would mean they have proper header information and should play. Like I mentioned in that other old topic you linked to sometimes re-saving a video (not re-encoding/transcoding which causes quality degradation) with the free Avidemux tool I mentioned can if it's just a missing header make the file playable again since it creates a new header so media players (software & hardware) know what the file is and how to play it. Avidemux is no guarantee however, it's just som
  22. Recuva doesn't create/save a list, it's only what's displayed within it as it's resident. Therefore if you close Recuva it unfortunately means you'll have to start all over from scratch with it scanning for deleted files.
  23. See if this works, it doesn't require installing anything since it's just a settings change: https://www.lifewire.com/enable-flash-in-chrome-4160696 If that doesn't work see here: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-chromium.html
  24. You may be able to restore the lost partition without doing any formatting whatsoever but you'll have to use a 3rd party partitioning tool since what's built into Windows can't accomplish the task to my knowledge. Perhaps Easus Partition Master or MiniTool Partition Wizard can do it, both offer a freeware version but I don't know if the free mode will be able to do that, you may have to buy a license. Both programs are similar and both are good.
