  1. What program is it linked to? Quit the program before cleaning is 1 thing you can do, see if it helps. You can add the file to exclude (run analysis, go into details find the entry, right click, add to exclude). You can contact the program developer and ask them why they use such a gosh darn (or stronger words) stupid firetrucking (ok now I'm reaching ) place to put a live dll file. You could scan the dll with your antivirus to see if it's safe (though in all likelihood it belongs to your antivirus because they are known for being dumb like that). I'd say there is very far from nothing you can do
  2. Hi, the developers strive to add as many items to clean as possible; however, there are so many softwares out there that it would be impossible to know what to clean from them all. To help the developers support this product - and so you can clean it until they do - the they have provided a feature call winapp2. There is a link to an explanation under this post, in my signature and a readily available community driven template at the top of the ccleaner discussion board. Basically an entry is a file or registry key that identifies that the program exists, and a single or set of files/registry keys which are to be removed. So here's an example [Malwarebytes Anti Malware] LangSecRef=3024 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe Default=False FileKey1=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs|*.txt FileKey2=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Quarantine|*.*
  3. Importing cookies from where and how, I've never heard of cookie transplanting

  5. Best to contact your support rep directly as that's what you paid for. This is the users' forum so none of us could really tell you.
  6. Sooo I guess we're saying that there are plenty of options here for you to not complain about
  7. Just click the uninstaller link at the bottom of that 404 page. Not so difficult that I had to actually come back and look; next time be an adult and make some self-guided effort. K thx
  8. Revo http://www.revouninstaller.com/ Iobit http://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php Absolute http://www.glarysoft.com/absolute-uninstaller/ I don't use these so I can give no advice on them
  9. Don't delete it unless you know you can. Stick with document file types (example: .doc .txt .mp3 .mov etc) don't remove any program file types (example: .com .exe .dll .dat)
  10. You still can decline the google offer in the installer, that has not changed. How would you suggest they make money if not through google (or other) bundling?
  11. Why are you worried about an insignificant amount of fragmentation, and drive with 23 or less fragmentation is within operating norms. There's no such creature as "100% defragmentation" in the real world
  12. Your log clearly shows it's not ie cookies that stops it but a temporary file . This file is likely locked by a process for what ever created it.
  13. Ccleaner has always just run uninstall command that windows runs, if you need a complete uninstaller (as if run from programs control panel) there are well known softwares that specialize in doing that.
  14. Last I was made aware, it is fine to have the pro portable however not portable and installed at the same time. To make it portable copy ccleaner.exe, and ccleaner64.exe and any dll you find in the folder and create in the new folder and dummy text file called portable.dat in the folder (make sure file extensions are shown so it doesn't secretly be "portable.dat.txt"). If your registration doesn't carry over, though it should, you should be able to register your license number into it.
  15. Those are all built into firefox and can't be removed
  16. So the top selection google translates to "Key fix 'to upgrade to the latest version upgrade to the latest version Fun new features." So maybe it's repair or keep settings The second choice says "● straight seam Thank you for using the 'we will strive to improve" maybe uninstall? I couldn't get translate apps to figure out the buttons and as 1 is c and the other n, they both could be the ok (with one being No or the other being cancel) edit: but based on the second shot I'd say the one on the left is ok
  17. yes, it should be*, except a specific file or wildcardset of files should be called so that the rest of local storage is cleaned. The best bet is to right click the chrome section and choose analyze, then inspect the detail pane for your specific ABP files right click the file and choose add to exclude, again so the rest of local storage is still cleaned. *I Don't have my winnapp1.ini file (the internal list of cleaning locations built into ccleaner) but running export (there's a sticky on doing that) should allow you access to see where ccleaner cleans for local storage. I say should because browsers often fall under the special key sections which are more obfuscated.
  18. Two ways 1: right click the .reg file choose merge 2: open regedit.exe; go to file menu; choose import. You should note that while this fixes some problems that may have been caused by removal of reg keys, if, for instance, a key has been reissued by windows or another program importing backed up registry may not fix
  19. Re-read what you quote that I said (emphasis added) "IF YOU DON'T USE THE APP THE WAY A NORMAL USER WOULD". The implied statement is that most everybody who uses a computer, stays signed into the store, and, unlike websites, rightfully should NOT expect to lose their store login from using an entry provided here. They expect their search history to be removed or things like that. Besides which, I thought it was recently decided that more* entries should be reserved for entries that double winapp1.ini entries not doubling winapp2 entries (but maybe I made that up idk spoiler alert: it was literally less than a month ago).
  20. Browsers must be fully exited before cleaning. This includes any programs which use the rendering engine of the browser. There is a wide variety of applications (and windows apps) that keep edge and explorer items locked, including but not limited to mircosoft office, windows store apps and secunia PSI Also edge cleaning Edge is slightly broken if you've taken the Anniversary update. Yhe developers are working on a solution.
  21. If you dont use the app the way a normal user would, how can you be sure if the entry is good/bad?
  22. What programs start with your pc? That's where I'd check first. Please run ccleaner in debug mode (see the sticky at the top of this board, ccleaner bug reporting). And recreate the bug and then provide the resulting log as an attachment to this thread
  23. Yes moving them to the original drive at any point will likely (greatly if many files are moved)reduce chances that data unrecovered will be available Edit: its not the originals that are moved which causes the problem, it's the action of writing any file to the original drive.
