  1. No joy with that one, Still have the problem. It cant be the keyboard if one keypress works ok can it? Surely this means the key is functioning OK. I do normally take it apart every so often and give it a good wash in the kitchen sink but have not done that for a while maybe I should.
  2. This applies to everyone struggling with windows updates, or maybe not even struggling. There are other ways to skin a cat, so to speak, Follow this link to a page on Tarun's site for more info, http://lunarsoft.optichosts.net/Forums/viewtopic/t=69.html
  3. Seem to have a problem with the arrow keys on my keyboard lately, they all work OK when pressed once, and the left and down will enable the cursor to move repeatedly when held. But if I hold the up or right key they move once and that is it, they just will not repeat. This happens in any application, so I am assuming it is a setting problem somewhere, but I cant find where. It has been happening for a while now, but is really getting tedious now. Any ideas anyone.
  4. slowday444 You, like so many others, are using v6 to update windows, I dont seem to get this option and still used v5 tonight. You could try updating from v5 instead, by using the link below. http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5co...t.aspx?ln=en-us Sorry, I just had to edit this when I read your post again, you already tried this. Have left it in though in case it helps anyone else. Try this instead, Run CCleaner to clear any remnants of earlier attempts and then try again.
  5. Could I not have had a few more options? Only joking, Thanks for all the info, Tarun.
  6. Nice one TwistedMetal, It brightened up my afternoon when I saw who had done it.
  7. I am even more bewildered now, that seems an impressive list of stuff, most of which I dont understand. I must admit their pricing is amazingly cheap, no company in the UK even comes close. I did visit their site again about 30mins ago, and am very tempted, just wary of hosting with an american company, if I had problems it could cost me a fortune to get them sorted, unless, that is, problems are rare, and you guys could help me. $2.95 per month would only be ?20 per year, that is good. Have you been with them long? Any Problems?
  8. I watched the first one, only really watched that for Billie Piper, oh, and to relive my childhood a bit, I always watched when I was little. Could not believe Chris decided to leave so soon, he seems nice enough, (not as nice as Billie though), saw him on a chat show the other night. I have not really helped, have I? Oh well, gave me a chance to think about Billie.
  9. You would change it back though, wouldnt you?
  10. englishmen, your letting the side down, change it back, and change your password on the forums whilst you are at it.
  11. Even in the UK I think he would have been found guilty, and our judges and jury are not generally found to be as harsh as those in the U.S. Just hope the parents out there use some sense and keep their kids away from neverland anyway. They are probably as much in the wrong, almost anyway.
  12. I find it all a bit bewildering really, (the webhosting that is not the multi quote bit). I want to keep it cheap, as I dont make money from the sites, 100mb storage is ample, but I would not want the bandwidth to get exceeded, as I think that would make the sites look really unprofessional. I only have three up and running at the moment, the fourth has been in the making for about eight months now and looks like never getting finished. Nothing gets done on any of them lately, I find it more appealing to come here instead, even when I am at work I manage to sneak the odd post in every so often.
  13. Does not take too many words to sum this up, celebrity status and money, (and possibly pretending to be sick), is a powerful combination.
  14. I have looked here as well rridgely, we have a similar one at www.heartinternet.co.uk It gets to the stage where I think my mind is made up then I read something bad about them in a forum and start all over again. P.S. Tarun, dont do the "for the love of god" bit on me
  15. I will do it Dj, when I get a proper name registered and proper hosting sorted out, being on geocities means I have to be a bit careful at the moment.
  16. Tarun, I have had a look at your webhost after seeing you mention a special deal a while back, I have also looked at various UK webhosts, I just cant make my mind up who is best yet. Thanks anyway.
  17. I agree Geocities is crap, although it does not have banners, it has an ad square in the top right corner, which can be closed. I agree bandwidth is a problem, my main site cannot even be viewed completely twice in an hour because it has quite a few pages, thus exceeding bandwidth. My site's have spread by word of mouth and nothing else as of yet. I have submitted them to search engines but with no luck as of yet. Meta-tags are already included. I would never spam because I prefer the honest approach. I regard creating websites as a hobby, and as a means of spreading information, and will be the first to admit they will never look as good as a professional website, but I am semi-happy with them considering I do not even work in the I.T. sector.
  18. There wouldn't be a couple of mates of some other pest in this thread would there, the other pest has the initial E.
  19. A local man. I live in London but work in Kent.
  20. I totally agree with you englishmen, why pay if you can get it for free, maybe it is an english thing, the most expensive piece of software I have is Office 2000, which I only have because all the schools use MS Office, once my kids leave school, I am uninstalling it and using OpenOffice all the time. The only other reason that I would have kept MS office is for Frontpage, but I now use NVU and manual coding for websites anyway. By the way I take it you are actually an Englishman, you never posted in the Where do we come from? thread.
  21. Your welcome and good luck.
  22. Are you going to stick with that way then bavaria?
  23. yeah done that already but I normally have to include someone elses name as well.
