  1. Do you recommend a branded one? The one I looked at today was a make I have never heard of.
  2. As freeware, shareware, donationware or paid for? Theres not a lot of software that I do pay for, but if that is the option you take, then count on me to buy it, you will need rewarding for the time spent on it, and the help it has already provided to others. Although perhaps Dj should be rewarded too, for his contribution in rewriting it in Delphi.
  3. Funny that, I was in a computer shop today, spotted an optical mouse, reasonable price and all that but put it down and walked out. My son has one on his laptop, and I think it is great. I might go back and get it tomorrow if it is open.
  4. Tarun, Do you think you will ever make it available to others?
  5. I borrowed this from another forum. "WebClient/Publisher file 32K in your Temporary Files ~~ This file is a necessary component of your Network capability of Windows XP. -- Deleting is unnecessary and between you and me , what is 32K of space on a Hard Drive today!! There are many ways you can make it dissapear temporarily -- but on boot-up your O/S will re-create the file. That is a needed file."
  6. Yeah, I always pay attention to cleaning the bottom of the mouse and the ball, but never the scroll wheel.
  7. Thanks, I will try that just for the fun of it.
  8. I think you have cracked it, because it always jumps up to three lines at a time, and my scroll wheel is set at three lines at a time. Perhaps its time for a new mouse then. Thanks Tarun.
  9. Random Access Memory is not capable of storing anything once a computer is shut down.
  10. Thanks newbee, its handy to know that way in case I dont have my software CD with me. Thanks englishmen, that was the program I came across a while ago, I've downloaded it now for future use, because I know I wont remember newbee's way.
  11. Yep. Is this going to mean something in particular?
  12. How can I find out what the license key is on a ME computer? A friend was given the computer, it has a legit copy of windows on it, but he was not given any documentation, or windows cd, or anything else except for the computer. He is a newbie to computers, so there is a good chance he will muck it up, and I will end up reinstalling it for him. I want to find the license key as soon as possible, whilst it is still working. I am sure I have hunted through the registry in the past to find it but can't remember where to look now. I did come across a little program that would do it not so long ago, but did not bother with it as I thought I would never need it, I wish I had got it now, just for the sake of getting it.
  13. I know what you mean my short term, errrrrrrr, memory, is not that good either. Back to the problem, I might just put up with it for now, until it really starts to bug me.
  14. It is random but often happens in this forum, as well as other sites.
  15. I liked that bit. This thread came at just the right time, I dont have a DVD writer myself, but I installed one for someone else yesterday, and was going to find out what software would be best. I guess I just found it, thanks guys.
  16. We can all make mistakes Twisted.
  17. OK, my mistake, I think I was tired or on the phone or something. Just re-read your winnapp2.ini thread and realised it is users submissions, I had thought previously that it was just your submissions.
  18. How about a pinned topic with regards to user related entries in the winapp.ini file submissions, of which englishmen seem's pretty clued up on. Other users could then easily search through the posts for entries that they would like to include in their cleaning procedure.
  19. WebActive and ComputerActive first promoted it soon after it's release, almost.
  20. It has all come back to me now, as to why I stopped buying: WebUser magazine Although I still ocassionally buy their rival magazine: WebActive magazine Which is the sister magazine of the UK's best selling computer magazine: ComputerActive magazine of which I buy every fortnight without a doubt. Two members of this forum stand out head and shoulders above the rest, one of which is Tarun, who was slightly slated by J Mc K, the other is DjLizard who's posts were quoted by J Mc K, without these two members this forum would struggle a bit. Thanks for your opinion though J Mc K.
  21. Ditto, I am exactly the same as TwistedMetal.
  22. Does anyone else get this problem, I thought it was just me but have since found out it happens to someone else. When I click a link whilst using firefox, the link does not actually activate and the page scrolls up or down by a few lines. Next time I click a link it will be OK. It is not constant, but can happen a few times in an hour.
  23. All references to eldmannen's age and sexuality are based on statements originally made by himself. It is most definately doubtful about the age he has given, and possibly even his sexuality. What we must remember is, that this is a virtual community as opposed to a real community, and that lies can be told with ease, although hopefully the majority of us do tell the truth.
  24. You might as well, we all might as well, because, we are a long time dead afterwards.
  25. I cant help you for definate on that one, but, I think it should still be there. Someone else will post to let you know for definate.
