I think I must have my stupid head on tonight, beacause I cannot see the connection between all the posts in here and the two by Eldmannen. Where did the bragging bit about how long you have been using computers fit in Eldmannen? Just for the record, the first computer I ever used, was a BBC micro, back in 1981, remember them, and the first computer I ever owned was a ZX81, I think I got that in 1982, this I did lots of programming on, mainly games, all of which I submitted to magazines, but only one of them was ever published, for which I did receive payment, and I still have the magazine to this day. Even though I have been using computers all that time, I am forever learning. I am considered quite knowledgeable where computer use is concerned by friends and family, but I have only a fraction of the knowledge of some of the guys in here, who do not even need mentioning, we all know who they are.

I did eventually look it up, it sounds OK, I will give it a try if I ever come out there. We probably have similar here, theres nothing wrong with a bit of excess gas either, so I would give the beano a miss.

Thats quite an extensive list, I have only lived in three different areas in all my life, and they are all within about 10 miles of each other. Although I have visited a lot of places in the UK. Never been out of the UK though, hopefully that will change the year after next. My theory seems right so far, the majority are from USA (5/8 posts).

WTF is EUO, I guess it is a game, should have asked my kids really they might have known. None of the above helped I'm afraid, but I have sorted it. It was Tweak UI that was causing the problem, I had to open Tweak UI and select First Icon on Desktop in the Desktop section and make sure My Documents was selected. Seems strange to me but it cured it.

I had an idea that we could all post the part of the world that we come from here, which would help others know when certain people are likely to be awake to assist with problems or sleeping, (rejuvinating themselves, ready for the next days problems). I seem to get the impression that a lot of you are from the USA, except Tarun who I think lives on the moon, (not too sure of the time difference up there). I'll start, I'm from London, UK, (you might have guessed that by now).

Thanks again Dj, They must have been my night time posts then. My night time posts are always better than my daytime posts, (I think), because I chill out with a beer at night and have time to think when the wife and kids are in bed. In the day my posts are normally in snatched moments at work.

No not a party at my house, you all live too far away. How about someone asks a question on this forum that even I can provide a solution to, just to boost my morale a bit. I seem to be struggling lately, maybe I should give up on computers, and search for an abacus on ebay, I could probably use one of those.

Thats where I downloaded it from, just downloaded it again to be sure, but it is still the same. Once I have it on my desktop, I double click it, then get told by windows that it cannot open this file. I know I am doing something stupidly wrong, but dont know what.

I am struggling with this chromedit thing, I download what appears to be it from the mozdev website, but I dont end up with an application, I get a file called chromedit.xpi. What do I do now.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to sorting out this error message. It appears when I open the My Network Places folder. Clicking Yes or No twice makes the error message box go, but I end up with an empty window. This is on a computer that is accessing the internet through another computer without any problems, but other than that all communication between computers is non existant. The computer showing the error message is a Win ME, just in case this helps. Thanks in advance.
