ouch
in The Lounge
So what is next?
Get kicked in the nuts?
You do this willingly?
Maybe you should consider a career in Jackass.

Symantec Antivirus also known as Norton AntiVirus is big, slow, bloated, crappy, sucky, resource hogging, memory draining piece of crap.
-
Now you give me bad vibes.
MySpace is a community that caters to retards. If idiots could fly, MySpace would be an airport.
And faded HTML text is just too lame.
-
Maybe easier with a scanner since they have higher resolution and are made for scanning unlike webcams which are made for video converation.
Maybe you can get your hands on some OCR (Optical character recognition) software that can read the letters on the picture and output it as text.
* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_character_recognition
I dont know of any such software though, but I do know that it does exist.

Yeah, and when people see "World Cup worldchart! download for free!!!" then people install it, heh.
-
It is not really free. It is free as in "free of charge". But due to being freeware it is still restricted in some ways.
And if it wasnt free, I would never have used it. And would never ever even considered to buy/pay for it.
And if you're not careful, it installs crap like Yahoo! toolbar.
If it wants to be free, then it should be free from junk such as Yahoo! toolbar, and have the source code freely available too. And I should be allowed to freely modify it, distribute it, change it, alter it, etc.

I hate ads.
Especially the animated gifs and macromedia flash crap.
And graphical ones.
Maybe ads make people dumb, always telling people what todo and trying to influence people into crap.
Also always when click on a ad banner you get 100 cookies and offers of "free screensaver" that has spyware and crap. Ads are evil!
-
AOL users are dumb.
I dont use AOL or AIM.
Death to all who does!
-
AntiVir is now known as Avira, I think.
I like ClamWin because it is free, open source and light. Unfortunately its pretty slow and have no on-access scan.
AVG and avast! is pretty popular. Avast has skin though, I dont like that.
Probably AVG is the best maybe...
Not sure...
-
I never experienced it deletes any software from the computer.
Maybe you installed those software in the TEMP folder.
-
I dont know, I never visit that website.
Most of my downloads are from SourceForge.net

It is so annoying with evil companies that try make a living of making hell for other users by installing spyware and then try to sell their victims a rouge anti-spyware software.
-
Yes, I think it does that.
You should use Firefox, those website you mention often have spyware, dialers, etc.

Did you remember to stop and then restart Explorer.exe via the task manager
No, I restarted computer...
Another way to do it is visit kellys-korner-xp.com (a great site) then scroll down to: 53. Remove Past Items From Notification Area
It's a .vbs file (it's safe) that you run, it will automatically end task Explorer.exe and restart it. However it's best to restart Windows because if you try to customize the icons in the SysTray they won't stay configured the way you put them which is the reason you need to restart Windows.
Thanks, that worked!

I personally wouldnt install such a "software suite offered for free by ISP".
That dont sound good in my ears, heh.
-
No it does not remove the updates from your system.
It removes the possibility of uninstalling the updates.
So you got nothing to worry about...
-
Yeah, I tried that but it dont seem to remove them...
-
Right-click Taskbar, select "Properties".
Now there is a checkbox that says "Hide inactive icons" along with a "Customize..." button.
How do I clean that list?
It would be good if CCleaner could clean that list.
Where are all those things saved?
-
Yeah, some people and corporations are trying to destroy the Internet, much of them is big corporations that want make more money or have some twisted agenda.
* Fundamental christians who want to remove porn, and further enforce age limits in game and remove violence, etc.
* AOL (America Online).
* Church of Scientology who several times want censorship stuff, remove websites about/against scientology, spam mailing lists, etc.

I agree, this Yahoo! toolbar sucks and its just dumb bundle junkware with software.
-
Need to bump up this imho very good idea.
Add a "Clear" button and a /CLEAR-COOKIES-ONLY command switch!
-
Thanks for new release.
Seems all new version will come with this dumb Yahoo! toolbar though.

If you do things like eGold and online transactions then security becomes a top priority.
You could get a Linux Live CD distribution, that way you can boot the computer from the CD and run the operating system and all software directly from the CD without mounting the harddisk. Since the CD is read-only media, nothing can written/installed on the CD and it cant touch the disk either unless you mount it. Linux has very high security.

I am not sure, maybe in future. But currently not. And I have heard no plans of implementing such a feature.
