Are you using a custom windows theme or skinning applcation? CC wasnt adjusted to the look of vista. CC just added icons for the different cleaning sections (bitmaps actually).
Also have you recently changed your color scheme?
Thanks MrG for implementing the ability to edit items. Much appreciated. I would futher like to request the ability to selectively enable/disable items for TS or times when you dont always want to clean everything in the 'Inlcude list'.
Here is a new concept image I made...
About the new editing feature... This is really a step forward. Thanks again MrG for this.
For those that arent familiar with the feature goto Options>Inlcude
1. Select the file you want to edit
2. Click the edit button
3. Edit the file mask (or select a different file/folder)
Alright I came up with something...
In WinApp2.ini add the following entry (if you dont have WinApp2 one is included in the zip file below)
[Create Log Entry]Deleted by Disk4mat
Download the zip file and extract CCLog to the folder where CCleaner.exe is located
Run CCleaner and in the cleaner section on the Applications tab you should see CCleaner with a 'Create Log Entry' checkbox. If the box is checked a log file will be created in your documents folder. Each time you run CC the date and time will be entered into the log.
The name of the log file is: CC Log.txt
For reference here is the code for the script
Dim WshShell, LogPathDeleted by Disk4mat
Registry cleaning is really only needed after uninstalling programs. I do it regulary because I use Visual Studio and accumulate orphan registry items from various projects. Mostly file extensions though.
Honestly though, I've been using CC on Vista for a year and never had the registry cleaner cause any trouble.
I never cared much for bat files. In my XP days before I found CC I used WSH.
Dim FSO, F, Subf, key, MyIEDim WshShell, BtnCodeDeleted by Disk4mat WScript.Quit
Nico, Im currious why did you have to use system restore? Im running Vista Business x86. There are always going to be unused file extensions. Its an quirk in Vista. It seems any time you work with a file thats not associated with a program Vista will add the extension to the registry.
(In the attached screenshot I renamed a PRX file and it was added to the registry. Since PRX is not associated with any program, CC determined its an unused ext.)
I cant comment though on the Type Lib's. I normaly use the registry cleaner on a weekly basis and havent found any items in a long time.
