  1. Your welcome! Happy that worked out for ya.
  2. Hmmm... Im using IE8 under Vista x86 SP1. It wasnt a problem until recently. The only thing that has changed for me is that my 2Wire DSL modem got a (pushed) firmware upgrade recently. But on several other php based forums I dont have any trouble. Also I can right click the thumb, copy the address, remove the _thumb and view the image just fine. Example... Really odd.
  3. Everything looks great except in step 4. Your right about the missing /. Tonight you should have no problem with the task executing. If you want to test it sooner, you can go into Task Scheduler, right click the task and select Run. Oddly I cant open the screenshots either. Maybe its a forum issue. Here is one of the screens hosted on an image site... http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/145/tasksched.jpg
  4. Im using 96 DPI and Segoe UI. I've never changed my default font settings aside from disabling cleartype.
  5. I wish it were possible. I suspect the reason is so that users dont accidentaly delete registry keys that are important or unintended. I have a few scenarios where I could use a wild card.
  6. Let me save you some time and trouble if I can. I created a task to run CC at 3am daily with the auto switch and attached it below. Save the XML file to your desktop. Open Task Scheduler and goto the action menu and select import task. Set the time since my time zone is different and your good to go. Manual instructions Open Task Sched and goto the Action menu. Select create task. In the new task dialog, check the box to run the task with the highest privileges. Triggers tab, new. Set for daily and time. Actions tab, new. Enter the path for CC with " " so it would be "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" In the Arguments box type /Auto Conditions and Settings tabs you can leave as default. Right click, save as... CCleaner.xml Or in a zip file. Extract the XML and import it CCleaner.zip Screenshots CCleaner.xml CCleaner.zip
  7. You wont see the exe file ext. Its hidden by default. You confirmed the location/path of the executable from the shortcut. So you can just use that in task scheduler with the switch. Are you running XP or Vista?
  8. Actually, I do. If the registry key does not exist then CC wont allow you to add the exception/exclusion. More than likely the key has been deleted from a recent cleaning. So the next time you see the key appear, then you can goto the exclusion and add it and the Ok button will be enabled.
  9. Windows creates the file extension any time you edit/modify/create a file with the extension. If you save a file as MyTest.DVR, a registry key would be created for it. However CC determines that the ext. is not registered with an application (default open etc). So CC the see's it as an error or obsolete entry. The easiest solution is to add an exclusion to the registry. Open CC and goto Options, Exclude. Click the Add Registry button and select HKCU from the drop down. Then copy the below and paste it in... Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\FileExts\.DVR Now that key will be exlcuded from further cleanings. If the key is going to regenerate, you haev 2 options. Exclude (ignore it) or accept that it will always appear when cleaning.
  10. You can locate ccleaner.exe a couple of ways. If you have a shortcut on your desktop or start menu, right click it and select properties. There you will see thw full path including the executable. Or you can do a search for ccleaner.exe. If you installed it it to its default location then you may find it in C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe That being the case the program/file to execute in task scheduler would be: C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe /auto
  11. Happy you got that cleared up
  12. Does the file exist or is it missing? If the file does exist, then you can uncheck the box 'Run at startup'. Since you wont have that many uninstalls leaving behid a run key. My guess is that CC is having trouble reading the path possibly. So it dosent find the file. Your running 64 bit version of Windows right? Vista, XP or 7?
  13. The drop down box when viewing details in the cleaner is not wide enough to accommodate the text. See attached below. Steps to reproduce. Run CC and perform an analysis for cleaning When viewing the summary results, right click in the list and select details In the upper right corner of CC you will see the drop down box containing the different cleaning sections/components For several lines, the text is cut off
  14. I would be in favor of a 'View Details' button after analyzing. Im too lazy to right click, left click. But let me also say that I love the new version and am always excited with each new release! Edit: I just realized I can double click on an entry and view the details. Nice! Maybe I dont need a button after all.

Which version of CC are you using BTW? Im currently using 2.22.968 and I remember with previous CC versions other users reported cookie problems. Also are you using XP, Vista or ___?

    Explorer 8

For some time in CC, I see many duplicate cookies. Some sites with a www prefix and many without. For example in the list I might see bing.com and then www.bing.com. What I have to do is save the cookies without the www prefix. This has been what works for me since IE8 was in beta. Also, dont forget if you delete your index.dat files your cookies saved become useless. Are you saving settings to an INI file? Are there any sites that do save or is it all of them? When you log into sites do you use the checkbox 'remember me'? Just some Q's. Hope you dont mind.
  18. Thats something the dev can comment on and investigate. Possibly the logs in W7 are in a different location or the files have otherwise changed. Im sure other W7 users who are more famaliar can lend some insight.
  19. Its still there. Are you saving settings to INI or registry?
  20. You'll need to exclude cookies from both of those domains (google & netflix). Open CC and goto options, cookies. Select cookies from the left side and move them to the right side (via button ->). Make sure you keep all cookies related to google and netflix. You might find 2 or 3 for each site. More info: http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner/ccleaner...cookies-to-keep
  21. The short answer. If the dll/ocx is missing or not present then yes. Some times if I run it an dclean, a second run will find a few more items.
  22. Those files that you are excluding are cookies only and have no effect on history, links or typed URL's. At the moment I dont see a way to exclude items from history. Its a clean all 'History' items or clean none. Im guessing your using Internet Explorer? (Cleaner section, Windows tab, Internet Explorer: uncheck history)
  23. For me the Start Run option being checked has always removed the items from the registry. Which is why it always shows as 0 bytes: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU Recently opened docs are stored as shortcuts: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\ Here is a page I found that further describes Run history not being retained: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/runmru.htm
  24. Well... Since your running a legit copy of Windows it would be easier to re-activate at this point. If you already used system restore, then it would seem its not an option to keep rolling back.
