So far no luck. Ive set the cleanup to be scheduled for 24 hours and 50 mb's. Tried clearing data + cache and going through the step by step permission granting. Started a support ticket and we'll go from there.

Thanks for the reply. I did make sure its excluded from sleeping apps and also excluded from optimized apps. But... Your question got me thinking about something. I have CCleaner's background data use set to not allowed. Im going to enable it. Maybe it cant clean in the background because the app cant verify my license? Maybe. But yeah you got me thinking about a possible cause. Im gonna try it and I will make sure to report back either way. Android v9 Pie, Samsung Note 10+ Running the pro version of CC and the scheduler simply will not work. Have cleared data and went through the permission setup and still no go. On my old phone after updating to Android v9 it stopped working on that device. But since I was upgrading to the Note 10 I wasnt going to seek assistance. Android 8 was never a problem. Just did an analysis and found over 200 mb of junk to remove. Been waiting 10 days for the scheduler to run lol Ive attached a screenshot of my CC settings for the scheduler. Is this an Android v9 issue?

AFAIK Defraggler does not defrag files in use by other programs or the OS. Not to be confused with reg compacting. Over the years I found that while compacting the reg would save some disk space, it would create numerous file fragments. Even using Diskeeper would not defrag the reg files, so compacting them seemed pointless. I had better performance leaving well enough alone. There are some utilities that will compact and defrag upon a restart. But I realized I was spending too much time performing maintenance and less time being productive. With the exception of getting a new pc and removing 12+ programs, I dont see the need to perform reg compact(s) on a repeated basis.

You didnt read my reply to the previous post. I DONT use reg compacting and instead restore a drive image for performance reasons.

I do it mostly for performance reasons and to get rid of unwanted software and orphan files etc. Im really particular. I have everything set a certain way. Restoring the image only takes 6 minutes (not counting boot time). A while back I requested the same feature as you. But I dont think I would use/need it now. Might have been easier for me to say that originally.

Besides the point(s) Andavari has made, I cant imagine doing a compact more than 3 to 4 times per year. Unless your installing and removing some 3 to 4 apps per week, there is'nt much need. You wont recover that much disk space. Nor will the DB's compact to realize any significant gain. Myself I reload a drive image every 6 months. So I eliminated the need for compacting/defragging.

When I come acoss this situation, I do an install, reboot, uninstall and delete the folder/files left behind. Most of the time the uninstaller will remove the classID's and I run CC to clean the registry. I dont think there is a text book procedure for this scenario exactly.

You can add paths and file masks via Options>Include. Otherwise CC will scan the system drive and clean applications according to the default installation path.

Why have 2 detect parameters? Also, is'nt there an HKCU reg entry to refernce? Otherwise both reg keys have to be present in order for CC to carry out the clean action. It wont act as an either or.

Aside from unchecking 'Office' in the applications tab, I dont know of any other way. If I come up with something I'll post back here.

I have never heard of this happening before and cant think of any reason why CC would cause mouse functionality issues. Is this a Logitech (or similar) mouse that uses an application to set button functions etc? Also, this is a typical mouse and not a laptop touchpad?

Which version of Excel are you using? It is possible to preserve the Office recent docs while cleaning the remaining junk. Although it isnt much. Mostly registry items and a couple small files. A while back I made a request for CC to check for registry paths for more popular applications. Until (if) then, I maintain and edit my own ini files.

All good points. Im happy to see progress though. Once a feature has been implemented, its more likely that future enhancements will take place. Again, good suggestions. Lets hope to see them in a future release.

Unless something changed that I am unaware of, you cant use wild cards in registry keys.

Im not sure that you'll ever see 'application specific' support for an uninstall. CC runs the uninstaller thats provided by the application. Otherwise CC cleans known temp/junk files and orphaned registry entries. PC Tools does provide removers for various products they publish via their forum.

I dont doubt it. I seen strange things as well So would this feature be a 'clean all' for each drive or list the shadow copy of every single file?

I've never seen 30GB's of shadow storage used on any Vista machine that I came across. Not unless a user changed the default or had an extrmely large drive to support that amount. Just like system restore Windows will remove the oldest shadow copy to make room for the new one. The max allocated size dosent grow (you'll see an entry in the event log). Run VSSAdmin and adjust it up or down as you see fit.

The programs wont be removed. Only the temp files used by them. In CC you can goto the Applications tab to select or not, various applications installed on your system.
