Perhaps try this Joe.
Right-click on the taskbar on your machine.
Select TaskManager.
When it opens select the 'start-up tab' at the top (If you nothing when the taskmanager opens select more details at the bottom)
If you see ccleaner there click on it once to highlight it and then select (Disable' from bottom right.
Close the taskmanager and then Restart your machine. Make sure you select restart and not shutdown.

Perhaps try uninstalling Defraggler..rebooting your machine... and then re-installing Defraggler.
This may shake its brains up a bit.

That's interesting Dennis for those still using XP.
(I bet member @login123 may take a look )

Have you tried here?

Looks like the error message may be legit.

Seems odd that the error message is in English when CCleaner is the German version

I have unchecked the "Run at startup" box. Where might I find "smart monitoring" to turn it off, please?
Options.. Smart Cleaning.. untick the 2 boxes.

Need more info.
What operating system?
What browser are you using to get on the internet?
Have you done any registry cleaning with CCleaner?
Have you restarted the machine?
Any other info you think may help people to help you.

I'm using Avast free antivirus. Is it worth disabling it before installation? I'll check out the slim build option in a little while.
You shouldn't need to disable Avast to install the slim build (a lot of us, including me, use the slim build)

What security software are you running?
What happens why you install the slim build from here? (last in list)

Good morning at all,
My nickname is 91 Ruggero from Italy. I only have one question about cookies: before cleaning with Ccleaner Free, I want to keep only some cookies and delete others. How should I do it? Thank you.

In CCleaner, click the Options icon on the left.
Click the Cookies button. The list may take a few seconds to load. You’ll now see a list of cookies from all the browsers you have installed on your system. The left column displays all cookies available to clean and the right column displays a list of Cookies to Keep.
To keep cookies, move them to the Cookies to Keep column by selecting cookies and clicking the right-arrow button. You can select multiple cookies by using CTRL+click, or select a set of cookies in a row by clicking the first one and then SHIFT-clicking the last one.Option 2 from here

When Microsoft Edge reaches general availability in January, Microsoft has stated that the browser will automatically be installed on Windows 10 devices via Windows Update.
On January 15th, 2020, Microsoft plans on officially releasing the new Microsoft Edge browser and has decided to push it out via Windows Update rather than having it be a manual download.

Will point admins to this Imacri (again)
