Reliability History usually has errors in there and reports them back to MS, if you haven't turned the reporting off. Most users aren't even aware that these errors are hapening as they don't usually stop things working.

I find Reliability History very informative and wouldn't turn it off. When troubleshooting  a machine it's one of the first things I look at.

  2. If you are user of old Intel hardware, be sure to create a backup of your drivers or BIOS updates as Intel will no longer make them available for download once they reach end of life.

Sad day really, other companies such as Dell don't remove them. Perhaps they don't want people to use the old cheap ones, just use the new expensive ones.

  3. Have you tried a clean install of 1909?

What things have you tried already? Turning off Tips etc and Background Apps? (apart from Defender)

Do you use a local account of a Microsoft Account? Have you treid a new user?

I'm sure it's a configuration issue and not your machine.

  4. While we wait for thread starter to post back, users must bear this in mind now with Microsoft Store App.

If you uninstalled Microsoft Store by any means and want to reinstall it, the only Microsoft-supported method is to reset or reinstall the operating system, which will reinstall Microsoft Store.

Just a heads up for anyone installing 1909. On those two laptops I had to manually turn on Windows Defender real-time protection after the update, for whatever reason real-time protection was disabled after the systems started.

It didn't happen on my Win Defender machine.

    1909 musn't like you !!

(but a good heads up for others)

Do you mean malicious software remover, or is software remover something else (removes outdated/incompatible software to the windows.old folder).  I finally, today, got 1903 (on a computer last used in may and was stuck on 1803) so I doubt i'll see 1909 soon (or ever if it's like 1809).

Sorry nergal, yes I mean the malicious software removal tool that is offered in Win updates each month.

  8. Have updated through Win updates to 1909 from 1903. No problems so far.

You have to do the 1903 Cumulative and Software Removal Tool updates first (with a restart) and then you will be offered it when you re-visit win updates..

Google has gained access to a huge trove of US patient data - without the need to notify those patients - thanks to a deal with a major health firm.

The scheme, dubbed Project Nightingale, was agreed with Ascension, which runs 2,600 hospitals.

Google can access health records, names and addresses without telling patients, according to the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news.

  10. Glad to see this is going to happen

Microsoft has decided to roll back its decision to add the Downloads folder to the Windows 10 Disk Cleanup program after receiving negative feedback from users.

When this feature went live, we reported that this was potentially dangerous as users commonly start Disk Cleanup, check all the options, and run the cleanup routine. By adding the Downloads folder, users may accidentally check that option as well and remove files that they need.
