    CHM files

Can I ask where you downloaded the file from chaltun? There is usually no problems with opening the downloads so perhaps you might like to try from one of these locations. http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ http://www.CCleaner.com/download/downloading (alternative download) Did you try to download this perhaps? http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=1504 Noticed this, perhaps it could apply to you. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902225
  3. Humpty you are a life saver! I would have HATED for anyone to have seen that picture of me, never mind the security implications. Nice find
  4. Have you seen these possible fixes here? http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-515485.php Welcome to the forum amzee
  5. When you say you are unable to download an older version, have you actually tried uninstalling this version and getting a slightly earlier version from here? (look at list on right-hand side) http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
  6. The latest giveaway of the software range is Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2008. This is the full version and the offer says it closes on 11th October. Apparently it is supplied with 14 different modules to optimise areas of the PC including a benchmarker so before and after tests can be compared. Take care with the code box etc, apparently it can be a bit tricky to spot for registration. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/winopt/index
  7. AV vendors spend time on defeating malware but if the date is changed.... http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=186522
  8. There are a few people who are finding this at the moment. I am sure MrG the developer is aware of it and may bring out a new version in the near future. If it becomes too much of a problem for you, perhaps you could always go back to a previous version (right hand side of the page) http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

    Sandboxie

I use Opera CeeCee and have Avira but I must admit I don't surf without sandboxie, it causes no hassles fo me to use and is just another layer. Each to his own choice
  10. So you have tried to download from these sites? http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ http://www.CCleaner.com/download/downloading have you used CCleaner before? Which internet browser do you use?

  12. @Tunerz As far as I know The planet.com is a web hosting service used by some forums.
  13. Here's a little fun online personality test http://www.bored.com/drawthings/index.php (not sure I like myself much now after reading the assessment!)
  14. Seven of eDonkey's servers have been disabled on the order of German courts http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/ne...icle2504723.ece
  15. Perhaps CA has changed the download location for it's updates. I know this has recently happened with Avira. Try unticking CA in the applications tab of the CCleaner program, updating CA, and then running CCleaner again. Welcome to the forum by the way
  16. Can you ask your question fully so we can answer you. We are not mind readers

    CCleaner

Hello 69Bruce If you are unsure about cleaning in the "issues" area, say yes to making a backup when it offers you the option in a popup dialog box.. Then in the unlikely event of there being problems because of the clean, you just right click the backup and choose merge, it then restores the issues. The backup is stored by default in my documents. Have a read here for more info http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/
  18. It's a safety net like Craig says, not everyone is confident with removing reg issues. You forgot to mention the other important detail box schwarze, the option to make a backup.
  19. Have you used another version of CCleaner before and it worked for you? Are you useing Home Premium 64bit? Have you tried right clicking CCleaner desktop icon and selecting "run as administator"?

    Defraggler

Hello Moe In case you are unsure, a legend key is just basically an explaination of what colours or symbols mean in a certain software e.g.... (just examples, not real!) Blue blocks mean text files Red blocks mean avi files White blocks mean free space Green blocks mean unmovable files A good example of a legend key can be found in windows defragger, look at the bottom when you open it up.
  21. You lasted longer than me Craig!

    unlocker

Just as an aside, while looking around for any other vista file unlockers I came across this thread, it's the same link as Dennis's but carries on from there. http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=818920 I quickly became more interested in the comments of 2 of the members as the thread went on (you'll see why)
