  1. Ok, now that I know what the problem is, please go to the below site and follow All of the directions.

    http://downloads.locias.com/cleaning.html

In addition to those please download, update and scan with the following program:

    Spyware Doctor

Make sure you update the databases of all of the programs before you scan. When your finished post a new log.(Make sure your copy of ewido is updated and do a full scan removing everything you find).

  2. I have been posting about OO a lot, I know and I'm sorry. I have just been bussy and have needed it a lot more lately. Anyway I have finally found a way to make it not matter that you use openoffice(even though it is compatible with ms office its not 100% perfect). I found a portable distro of openoffice that will run off of a usb key! It is a pretty big file (116mb) So your going to need at least a 128mb memory stick.Although depending on how much work you will be carying around you might need a bigger one.(I got a 512mb lexar one for around $30).

  3. Wow, norton left its live update? That shows how truely crappy that program is. The Security Center is part of Windows XP service pack 2. To find it go to start>Control Panel.

Yes you can remove everything found by CCleaner. I suggest you run that norton remover I put in my first post. It will help rid you of all of the remnants of Norton.

  4. Actually I have been using this. It got to the point where the beeping was driving me crazy so I turned it off. Now I have a nice little icon that changes from white to yellow constantly.(I just ignore it.)

  5. my HP, from the restore partition, it took 9 CDs.

That would be what dvds are for. :D

Seriously though my compaq(which is basically an HP) came with a restore partition, restore discs, and a restore disc creator. I figure if something messes up my pc that I'm pretty much covered.

  6. Its perfectly safe to remove those files. The ZA ones are just the logs of what it has blocked. Same thing goes for the spybot ones, and no it wont reintroduce the the spyware. All its removing are the logs.

When you say that your memory is dropping below 100mb do you mean your hard drive or your ram, because CCleaner has nothing to do with your ram.

If your system is running low on ram I can help you find out what processes that you have running that you dont need. Just post a hijack this log. :)

  7. I'll believe it when I see it. I beleive the companies in my area now have the ability to give me a much faster connection but why would they? I wouldn't notice it and it would cost them and me more. Now, if your on dial up and they suddenly made this availabe than of course this would be a huge deal.

  8. I hate clip art but sometimes its necessary(and quicker). Well I was looking for a site with one download that I could get and have all the clip art I would need. I found it in on this site:

    http://www.openclipart.org/downloads/index.php

I had to reorganize and delete a whole bunch of text and .svg files to get this package the way I wanted it. The pictures themselves are png files which is a good thing.

If you know of any better packages please post a link.
