  1. Well, here's one. It'll probably change later. haha
  2. Well what fun is that? LOL j/k
  3. Dude, that's insane. Goes to show you, getting money is more important than catching some douchebag thief. I have no faith in law enforcement or anything of the like whatsoever...especially down here. They're getting dumber by the minute. Login- I wouldn't even know where to start on trying to figure out where the notice came from. The address and all matches up with the bank we've got the car loan from. It had to just be that it was meant to go to someone else with a similar last name. But I don't know. It's still strange. And LOL @ Fluffy.
  4. happy birthday, mudd!!!
  5. Love it, Dennis. I'm torn between a few for my desktop this month. Maybe I'll just post all of them instead of just one. haha
  6. Oh don't worry, we have copies in tripilcate and all stored in seperate, safe places. If anything happens, we're covered. lol Yep, Dennis was indeed correct. My brother said it was probably an error, but with the way things go for us I tend to freak (and get pissed lol) when something comes out of left field like that...especially since it was looking like we might not have a vehicle at all if this thing had been more than what it was. I'm still leary about the whole thing, so I haven't totally written it off, so to speak. And David...it's actually my mom's car (even though I play chauffer). lol Had to replace our old van with a newer one.
  7. Well, so far it seems like it was just an error. The customer service rep didn't show anything in her system about the notice, and neither did the supervisor. So I was just told to disregard it. Now let's hope it holds and that someone didn't royally f**k up our loan account. I don't want any more notices. lol
  8. Hmm...could work. I'll just have to try to keep me temper under control. haha
  9. That's my thinking on the whole thing. I logged into the account again and it still shows us having our next payment due in January. If they had renigged on it, I'm sure it would show by now. But yes, it's still something that has to be sorted out. And tomorrow is the day. I feel bad for anyone who decides to be stupid and piss me off when I talk to them. lol I hope so. I'm hoping it was just an error on their part and that maybe they sent the notice to the wrong person. Thanks, I'll go check it out!
  10. So I told mom about talking to a lawyer "just in case" and she wants to do that. Question is, what kind of lawyer do we seek out for this?? I'm going to speak with the bank first thing tomorrow. Mom is now wondering if this is a case of identity theft and that maybe someone tried to finance a car under her name and it got denied. So we're going to call CarMax as well. What's really throwing me off is that the notice said that CarMax has been notified and that we have to contact them (CarMax) to accept this supposed counteroffer from the bank. Wouldn't we have to directly contact the bank for something like this? Once a loan has been approved, papers signed and the car driven off the lot, doesn't that sort of the end the relationship of the dealer and the vehicle? And the funny part is that this notice was sent AFTER we received our first bill. So I dunno. It's all very weird. But hopefully tomorrow will bring the answers we need. But anyway, thanks for the input you guys! It's much appreciated.
  11. Good idea. I'll tell mom. I just don't get the whole thing, especially after logging in online (and calling the automated payment line) and it telling me when our next payment is due. If it had been cancelled, wouldn't that reflect online and on the automated payment number??
  12. Thanks...it was a nice day. At least my belly doesn't hurt anymore. haha
  13. Hoping someone here has some input on this. We had to buy a new car last month (sometime around the 3rd week of October). Obviously we got approved for the loan otherwise we wouldn't have been able to drive off the lot. Now today, over a month after getting the car, we get a notice in the mail (dated 11/09 by the way) from the bank that approved us saying that they can't extend credit to us. It says the dealer had been notified and that we had to contact the dealer within 10 days of the notice to "accept our (the bank's) counteroffer" otherwise the counteroffer will expire and they will not extend credit us (and we got the notice well after those 10 days were up). How is this possible? My brother says it has to be an error and that if there was an issue the dealership would have contacted us. Anyone else think this is an error? Can they really revoke a car loan after approving you??
  14. Hope everyone who celebrates had a great turkey day. I know I did. Good times with friends and family, and lots of good eats.
  15. A little late, but better late than never. lol happy birthday you guys!!
  16. Are you sure the emails aren't ending up in a spam folder?
  17. My Webshots thing has that feature. I liked it at first but then it just got annoying so I disabled it. lol

    swine flu

I've got the flu currently, but not swine flu. My friend's mom caught it and she said it was horrid. I hope you feel better soon. Were you put on any meds like Tamiflu or anything for it??
  19. LOL Oh how I WISH I lived there, Corona. Sadly, only my mind does at this point. But yes, the overwater bungalows are awesome! Some even have glass floors so you can see the water beneath you. I'm hoping someday I can get my booty over there to stay in one for a few days; though I may never leave if I do...haha
