  1. Haha well that's not a problem for me. I had to buy my dad a pack of cigarettes the other day and was asked for my ID. The girl was like "my God you could pass for a high school student!". I love it!! lol
  2. lol thanks you guys!!! sorry i didn't get back to you all sooner. i've been sick with bronchitis, a sinus infection AND the flu. what a way to spend the beginning of the 30's. lol
  3. Yeah, they said he was "armed and dangerous". I forget what guns he had on him when they caught him. So the lockdown was indeed necessary. Of course I was the one that kept walking outside to go look at all the cop cars and stuff. Plus, I had fun messing with the police helicopter. They don't like shining their light on the wrong person. haha Either way, it was definitely an adventure.
  4. LOL well they did catch him the other day. Apparently he was found in the apartment complex that's behind my neighborhood...go figure. lol
  5. Haha no Indent, lock-down is the law's decision and good luck to you if you try to change it. When they say no one in and no one out, they mean it. I can honestly say in the 20 some-odd years we've lived in this neighborhood, this is the first time we've ever had this happen. We've had certain streets blocked off before, but never a lock-down. People were parked at the 7-11 across the street waiting to get back home. Cops were telling everyone that if they attempted to get in to the neighborhood, they risked arrest. Insane!! But the kicker is they never did catch the guy. hahaha
  6. All because of this... Escaped Convict My mom wasn't able to get home until almost 5am because of this mess. lol
  7. That's so awesome. And they really are very cute when they're babies.
  8. I've got him on Reptomin food sticks, a calcium chew, lettuce and whatever live bugs/worms I'm able to trap. Once he gets a tad bigger, I'll start throwing some feeder fish into the tank. He should be pretty hefty when I release him. haha That sounds awesome! Have you ever had lions or leopards near your property?? OMG I'd keep it and make it my new pet. lol I take it that's happened to you, then? If so, do you still have it?
  9. Wow I'm amazed. Shoot, next time I rescue one I'll send it to you. lol j/k What's really cool is swimming with sea turtles. I've only had the opportunity once...totally mind blowing. I'd love to move down to the Florida Keys and work at the Sea Turtle Rehab Center, but it'll never happen. lol
  10. Thanks. But I just did what needed to be done. I'm such a softy when it comes to animals. lol
  11. So you've actuallty seen a Liger? That's so awesome. I've only seen one on TV. They're pretty awesome....and soooo rare!
  12. Hedgehogs are so cute! I almost bought one not too long ago, but mom told me she'd kill me if I did. LOL The baby squirrel sounds adorable. Not many people would have done what you guys did for him, so that's definitely commenable.
  13. Wow I can't believe you never saw a live turtle. Not even at the zoo or in a pet store or anything?
  14. I think it's illegal in a lot of places to own one. But that usually doesn't stop anyone. lol
  15. LOL Thanks. I'm glad to hear you were able to get the turtles across safely. I hope neither of you got bit though. Snappers can and will be quite aggressive as they get older. Even the little one I have now, no matter how much he's handled, will turn into a biting machine when he grows up. But it's great that you helped out the turtles!! Not too many people will do it. I've seen so many people here either bypass them or just plow through them. It's sad. The last turtle I rescued before this little guy was actually a tortoise that was trying to cross the road. There was no safe place to put her (we figured she was dumped off by someone since there were no woods or anything where we found her) so I ended up bringing her home and she lived in my backyard and the patio until I found a wooded area to let her go. I named her Myrtle and I was able to hand feed her bananas and salad greens. Mom told me I should have my own non-profit turtle rescue. haha
  16. LOL Thanks. It's actually kinda dumb how I came up with it. I had thought about all the old cartoons and how the characters would yell "geronimooooo" as they jumped off a cliff or something, so for some reason it seemed kinda fitting since he was most likely dropped by a bird. It sounds really dumb now but it made sense at the time. haha
  17. Yeah it's a good thing I was doing some maintenance and saw him before it was too late. He's about the 3rd turtle that's been dropped in our pool over the years in addition to one I found our front walk some years ago. It's a good thing I always have a fish tank handy. lol
  18. I rescued this little guy yesterday (we think he's a snapper turtle). He was in the pool skimmer and almost got sucked down into the pump. I figure a bird must've dropped him while flying by. So I named him Geronimo and now have him set up in my fish tank. I'll release him in my aunt's lake when he's big enough.
  19. In 60 days I'll be 30.
  20. Very pretty, Dennis! Here's mine... Vampire Bill Compton from HBO's True Blood.
