  4. I had a bit of a problem with IE7Pro and found that Show Wider IE7pro icon in the display area (*) has to be checked. Looking forward to a IE8Pro version.
  5. I don't see that on my Vista system. What settings do you have in CCleaner?

    FileHippo

It works fine for me. The only problem I have had was when Filehippo site was down.
  7. I'm using it now on my XP Pro system http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/arti...s_security.html I had one heck of a time getting it to download and even called Microsoft support and he was stumped so I completely disabled Avira AntiVir and was able to download and install it. What else to do on a breezy, Cloudy cool day in Canada EH! I'm sure going to let the Avira AntiVir folks know that the Version 9 update is working great
  8. I was at the other end where the big hummers and 3705 TP controllers and hundreds of phone company lines where. We use PMs (Personal Messages) here but only for really private things. Click on my ID then look for Personal Message.

    A tradegy

I see on the news this morning that she passed away yesterday: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001670 I have skied many times at Mont Tremblant and have many good memories about it as that is where I learned to ski. The ski instructor that I had was Swiss if I remember and on the last day we had a lunch a the top in the restaurant with hot chocolate, baguettes and cheese accompanied with what he called "Turn oil" that was wine that loosened us up and made us able to turn easier.
  11. Msconfig is a dangerous tool and should not be used unless directed by an expert. Change Msconfig back to Normal Startup unless you are using Vista then it should be Selective startup. WinPatrol is a good application for managing Startup items: http://www.winpatrol.com
  12. I don't like Toolbars as they take up too much space.
  13. What happened? right click to bring up spelling choices. I forget what IESpell works like as it has been ages since I use it because I use IE7Pro Cut-n-paste is the best thing since sliced bread: http://www.digitalmidget.com/help/cutpaste/index.php <== ignore "But, when it comes to cut and paste with HTML or javascript code" and go to the Slide show and right click come in handy as well as Select all (Ctrl+A) Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) Note: Ctrl+ means depress the Ctrl key and the other key at the same time. I'm a retired hardware guy but luckily was in the support area for IBM PC's when they first came out and could not use a keyboard unless I used the Two finger method.
  14. No need for a cold shower as you might catch your death of a cold www.imagespeech.com is recommended.
  15. On the right there is a # that if you click on it it will permit you to copy ( Ctrl+C ) the item reference number so that you can paste ( Ctrl+V ) into your reply:http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=131356 NetDetect is part of Norton:http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=Ne...earch&meta= Google is your friend.
  16. Copy-n-paste Use the Options drop down menu "Track this topic" You will find that it becomes very annoying after a while. Why not grab your favorite beverage and look for the highlighted topic areas then browse them at you leisure. Pinned are important topics and I'm not sure what you mean by pair. Smiles are the little pics on the left I use IE7Pro for spell check:http://www.ie7pro.com
  17. That site is slower than molasses in January. I guess because of the update.
  18. Messing with solid state things with power on is fraught with danger to the device and its contents in my experience. I have always made sure that whatever I have that is accessing the device like Explorer or Media Player is closed first then select Safely Remove Hardware and wait for the message that it is OK to remove the device then remove it. If you do not obey this rule then it is just like if you are speeding or driving reckless in a car then either you will be in an accident or a Police cruiser will appear and present you with a heavy fine and maybe some jail time.
  19. Welcome another Ken. Run Secunia Online Software Inspector to see what other applications are vulnerable: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online I like Dial-a-fix http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Dial-a-fix
  20. I tried to update my XP Pro system with Avira Premium to Version 9 but it keeps insisting that it is up to date.
  21. Its marvelous what one can do with multiple tabs open, copy-n-paste and my OE showing me my email and news from grc.com
  22. Or they can't find the Yellow Sticky with it on that was on the side of the monitor when they left I wish there was a smiley of Nelson Muntz saying Hah Ha!
  23. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityf...isrc=newsletter
  24. Its a bit superfluous for me as I'm running WinPatrol PLUS and Secunia PSI.
