I use avast! Free and Avira Antivirus on my old PIII because I could not get avast! to run on it. Malwarebytes MBAM is not an anti virus application but is a very good application to have. I would not have Norton nor McAfee even if they gave me a system to run either of them on. AVG has become a bit bloated and the forum for it is terrible and one of the reasons I switched to avast! Chose one and keep it updated at least daily.

While you are changing programs do not do any surfing nor open any emails. I thought you said you had AVG? You must totally un-install AVG and do a reboot or it will cause problems with the new anti virus. Spybot S&D has gone downhill and I do not use it any more. I use Malwareytes MBAM, Windows Defender and WinPatrol.
