  2. When you run Registry cleaner then Scan for Issues then Fix selected issues... then click Yes on Do you want to save backup changes to the registry? then choose My Documents and that will save the registry entries with the name like cc_20090202_074754.reg that is cc_today'date_time.reg in that destination Folder. Its in the User's Documentation: http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner/using-cc...gistry-cleaning

  4. Welcome blowdart I don't have Vista yet but I can not find anything like that in XP. I don't believe support for IE8 should be given serious consideration until it becomes generally available as it is still just RC1 and things can change.
  5. A bit like the fires you are enduring I know the NEWS is probably sensationalizing it but never the less I pity the people and their families that it impacts.
  6. I was a bit apprehensive at first as I thought I would be taken to Vlad the Impaler site.

    Begginers guide

I believe this was answered for you already but it is always good to have: http://docs.piriform.com I put it in my Favorites under Links then I Export them to a floppy diskette. In IE go to File then Import and Export... then Next then Export Favorites then Next then select where you want them saved.

I don't like anything from Norton (Symantec) as they borged Power Quest to make it their own. Have a look at: EASEUS Partition Manager 3.0 Home Edition http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm
  12. I have the November 2008 DirectX updates installed direct from the Microsoft DirectX updates site http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en Validation Required.

  15. Unpack to C:\WINDOWS\TEMP and CCleaner will clean them at its next run.
  16. I would ditch the AOL Software, Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Reader, Earthlink ISP, Net Zero ISP and Wild Tangent Gaming Client and run: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pcdecrap.html Then install SpywareBlaster and an anti-virus like avast! or Avir AntiVir.
  17. The big day is Tuesday and I am going to treat myself to a rare New York Sirloin steak topped with a dash of HP sauce accompanied with a Greek salad without the onions, roast potatoes and garlic bread and if I have enough room I'll have some warmed apple pie with ice cream at Mr. A'a Quick Flame restaurant across the street. Note: modified steak order as I do not like my steak the flavor of dried shoe leather lathered with ketchup

    RAM

I find that crucial.com shows the installed RAM and an upgrade path for required RAM is easy to understand: http://www.crucial.com You don't have to buy from them.

  22. I was hoping Jaxryley would pop in and give a reference as I believe he found it but I am sure it is there somewhere but the malware purveyors are busier than cockroaches in an Bronx N.Y. tenement so it is hard to find at the moment.
  23. When I went to university M&C with beef wieners or Cream of Mushroom or Tomato soup with bread was my lunch time diet as I could go home at lunch and whip them up in no time. Those were the days of burning midnight oil, cramming and no Taliban.
