  1. Do it in safe mode (for XP - run - msconfig - BOOT.INI - /SAFEBOOT - repeat the same but untick /SAFEBOOT to get out). Then get out of safe mode, scan in normal mode see if they're still there. If they are, you will have to do it manually in regedit, but report back here first.
  2. Sorry about the language thing - you've got a good excuse! Merry Christmas to you to.
  3. Just to let you all who know, I fixed the updating problem on my PC. Found loads of subkeys from F-Secure (NO-ONE should use this), under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SYSTEM - and unde rall the control sets there were subkeys, I had to change the permissions for all of those as well. Basically, no one should touch F-Secure at all - use Etrust.
  4. Don't mean to sound harsh - but English please?
  5. I sorted it out. Found an obscure subkey under Microsoft - Office. Thats gone, so it s all fine now, thanks!
  6. Thanks. I may not be a Christian - but the true meaning of Christmas to me is fun!
  7. Thanks. I deleted it, did an issue scanner and a RFA scan, got rid of those. The only thing left is Yahoo Internet Mail.
  8. I'll do another look in the registry for Office XP - thats the only one left now though, everything else got cleaned up.
  9. No, I'm not, just Add/remove programs under Control Panel - though the same thing happens under Uninstall in CCleaner as well. I'm more worried about Pinnacle. I don't know what to do.... I could delete it to recycle bin, and see what happens?

  11. Anyone else out there who does (thanks for the help though Rob - I don't mean for that to sound sarcastic!)?
  12. Two things. Firstly, I've noticed I have a 305 MB folder in program files called Pinnacle. This came with my DVD Re-writer, but there seems to be no uninstall for it. It doesn't appear under the all programs list so could I just delete the folder? I don't know whether I have deletedit in the past and this got left behind... Also, could deleting it stop my re-writer from working? I have also found a yahoo internet mail uninstaller. This came wiht Yahoo Messanger - which I want to keep. However when I click it, the hourglas starts, then stops - basically nothing happens? It could be a dud, but if it is their (looked under programs, if it is their its numdled with the messanger program under yahoo. Any ideas?
  13. None of the things I mentioned are there. Thats the thing, they're all uninstalled, spare folders deleted, registry values left over (cleaned up) - they're all gone as far as I can tell. EDIT: Soughted out Google Earth and DVD Shrink, not Office XP...
  14. "Drives: You can change floppy drive, hard drive, CD drive icons using IconPackager. If you have SP1 for Windows XP installed you can use IconWorkshop. Using IconWorkshop you can change the icon more than 1 hard drive, it doesn't change the icon of every hard drive on your PC. For example, if you call one hard drive a backup drive you could just change the icon of that hard drive to the backup hard drive icon." Well, just this! I'm keeping main icons like My Computer e.c.t, just changed one icon, but you've given me the know-how...
  15. Thanks for the link. Changed one shortcut icon, decided to keep the rest as they are, shame that you have to buy programs to change some things....
  16. How do I do it? I assume I just download an icon that i like, save it somewhere, right-click on the desktop icon, and select the icon I download? If so, whats the decent sites (looking for Vista icons too)? Or do I need a program? I'm also thinking of changing icons for like my hard drive in My Computer, 3? Floppy, CD drive e.c.t. How do I do that?
  17. Yep, its listing apps that I don't have on my PC anymore, which are: Google Earth Office XP DVD Shrink Anyway to get rid of them? I have been searching for these names in the registry and deleting what I find....
  18. Yeah, I got it, don't like it, a bit glitvhy, and it is a trial, every time you apply a skin a box pops up asking for you to buy it....
  19. I'm not to keen on it, to be honest: http://vistaxp-v2-vs.en.softonic.com/ie/45452 Thats for msstyles, just extract it, and double-click on the Visual Styles icon. Gonna have a look at Window Blinds - www.windowblinds.net - not .com/
  20. s**t I still consider a swear word. Damn, God's sake, Jesus I see as fine....
