  1. Why not go to Run - msconfig - Boot.ini (something like that) - tick safe mode. apply/O.K it, then it will give prompt to restart. To get out of safe mode, do the same again, just untick the box.
  2. Very nice, I'll be posting up my latest one soon.
  3. Fixed the defrag problem, it wasn't able to defrag a large file that I had (a portion of a DVD I had ripped to my PC that I hadn't got copied), thats all cleared up now, 0% total fragmentation. Hardware Issue - I'm pretty sure thats there just for when i want to take it off my PC, it reports its all working O.K.
  4. Outpost Free - thanks to Turan for recommending it to me.
  5. I have re-boote, yes. I'm not to bothered, I have the signatures installed (from my understanding the latest set contains all of them; http://crm.my-etrust.com/CIDocument.asp?KD...DC29227F9F7B144 - login as guest). Here's a screenshot to help you understand:
  6. I recently uninstalled my copy of Etrust, as the Expiry Date was incorrect. I re-installed, and the expiry date is fine now, however there is a minor problem. As most of you know, I have to manually update Etrust, and so when I installed it it said it was out of date. I manually updated it (correctly), but there is still a red cross on it in the taskbar, saying it is out of date. However, when I open up Etrust, and go to Help, my Virus Signature Update is the latest one? I think this maybe just because i haven't updated it through their program, like Ewido, if you update manually first time it says you have never updated it, but says you have the latest siganatures below it...? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Cool, if i get round to it, I'll just make the pins on the secondary drive (at the moment) the same as the primary drive (at the moment), and remove the drive I don't want?
  8. Thanks, I will give him a bell. I hope to be learning more and more stuff soon, I admit I do not know all the ins and outs of the registry, but I do know some stuff. I hope to learn more and more soon, so thanks for the advice.
  9. ICT: Information Communication Technologies. This really isn't what I wanted, I was hoping pople would tell me their sort of jobs that they do if they clean PC's....?
  10. It sin't a course like I need to take it, its an A-level. but this is in the U.K...
  11. Just would like to know what you recommend for me in the ICT buisness. I really enjoy cleaning up people's PC's, I have helped lots of people over the past before. I am currently doing A-level in I.C.T, but thats mosly to do with working in Microsoft Word. What kind of job do you recommend I do in the future? I am in England.
  12. I've opened it up before.. Will my PC automatically realise that the drive left is the primary one...?
  13. No, my primary rubbish drive isn't CD/DVD rewritable, thatw why there no point keeping it. Its also slow, not as fast as my secondary drive.
  14. I'm much more arty as you can see by my desktop, but that wallpaper rocks! Oh, I tested RK Launcher, found it was a bit of a memory hog, and didn't find it that useful - but thanks anyways.
  15. I'm just gonna barge on in this, and just say that Etrust really is the best. I used to use Avast on my PC, but after a virus got on my PC, Avast did a bad job of cleaning it up. That was some time ago, but Etrust really is much better, alot less complicated to configure, and has far less memory usage.
  16. I currently have two CD drives on my PC, my primary D drive not being very good at all, and quite slow, though my secondary E drive is brilliant, with it being CD/DVD rewritable and faster. Therefore I cannot see the point of keeping my D drive, but is it simple as just unplugging it (I know the basics nof going around the inside of a PC, though if there are important things I should/shouldn't be doing please tell), or do I have to configure some things to make my E drive my D drive after I've unplugged the drive I don't want anymore, or do I have to do some configuring before I unplug? All help appreciated.
  17. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...src=sec_doc_nam Expand the cross for Windoows 98/ME.
  18. If you do not want it go to Add/Remove programs, should be there.... If not there may be a valid reason, otherwise delete the files manually, and clean up the registry by searching for aol in the registry and deleting the entrys that are found with RegSeeker: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm# Though this is not highly recommeneded, there may be an uninstaller on the internet....
  19. Thats a bit strange, though it works brilliantly on my PC.
