  1. I see what you mean now, thanks for telling me. I'll give that a check soon.
  2. I'm gonna have a look at Shareaza soon...
  3. Hmm, I think I might give it a go, it might help, but isn't just one drive thats buggered, its both of my CD drives and my Floppy drive (says all the floppy disks I put in their aren't formatted when they are). What are oyu saying that this is a program I could use? Or are you saying it is a possible effect if I was to to start Windows without the drive plugged in, then shutdown Windows plug the drive back in, and then start Windows with it plugged in? Where are they? I really do appreciate the help you are giving me here, even if the problem isn't fixed, I am stil very thankfull.
  4. Yeah, I'm just saying its not worth having it..
  5. I see what you mean, like the immunize in Spybot? EDIT: Done that, cheers, I always thought it was real-time protection but it isn't thats cool. Now, what would happen though if I unplugged the drive and replugged it back?
  6. Personally, I only use: Registry First Aid Very powerful but extremely safe to use unlike other registry cleaners, thisfind sonly things worth deleting and won't screw up your system - it will just make it better! http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/reg1aid/ RegCompact.NET "This program will help you increase the speed of your WindowsXP system by optimizing the system's registry hives. These hives are files on your system that Windows stores program settings and other system information in. They are crucial to the operation of your computer's operating system and the speed at which they can be accessed will effect system and program performance." http://www.experimentalscene.com/?type=1&id=regcompact They're the only safe things I have found, and CCleaner works fine with them as well. I would uninstall whatever you have got and use those...
  7. No, you don't make them! Scan for issues - and for each thing that comes up navigate to it with regedit (you can see where to go under "Registry Key" next to each issues CCleaner finds), right-click the key you find, go to Permissions, click add, type Administrators and make sure you have full control (tick each think next to it under allow), then right-click and hit delete, should do the job....
  8. Morpheous isrubbish has tonnes of spyware bundled wiht it anyways. I'm fine with eMule and Soulseek.
  9. Don't know. All I know is I had bits left behind in the registry that I had to get rid of...
  10. Tried out the cdgone reg patch, didn't really do anything, it just made my AnDVD report on reboot that the DVD drives weren't connected or something. Tel me more about spyblaster please...
  11. And I'm checking that cdgone.zip patch....
  12. Thanks, could you give me a link to spyware blaster, and thats real-time protection isn't it? I'm not sure whether I want that, I only want to use on-demand anti-spyware scanners now....
  13. Of sony rootkit? RegSeeker does that automatically...
  14. I have it, and I have already scanned iwht it in safe mode... Maybe its some left over parts, I'll delete them manually, I found them via regseeker....
  15. Hmm. I think I'll re-plug, Eldmannen I found 3 registry entries eneding with sony rootkit, what do you suggest?
  16. Do it in safe mode (for XP - run - msconfig - BOOT.INI - /SAFEBOOT - repeat the same but untick /SAFEBOOT to get out). Then get out of safe mode, scan in normal mode see if they're still there.
  17. Right, have you ever used regedit (run - regedit) before? If so, then navigate to each of the issues manually, right-click it, go to Permissions, click add, type Administrators and make sure you have full control (tick each think next to it under allow), then right-click and hit delete, should do the job....
  18. I'll check about the rootkit, but its clean....
  19. Found it, installed it, but no help unfortuantly. Do you think umplugging the drive, switching on my PC, switching off my PC, and then re-plug the drive back in to my PC will work? Also my foppy drive is acting up, says al the floppys I put in there are unformatted, when they are....
  20. Right, I've found cdrom.PNF, and no option to install when right-clicked...
  21. And do it in safe mode, here's how; http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...src=sec_doc_nam
  22. What should I be looking for exactly? Do you have these registry keys that you can send to me for me to add to my system? O Or do you think umplugging the drive, switching on my PC, switching off my PC, and then re-plug the drive back in to my PC...?
  23. For some unknown reason, my CD/DVD player on my PC won't play anything. Not a thing. None of my DVD/CD playing programs pick up anything, except if I put a disc in, under My Computer it just says CR Rom or DVD Rom, but I can't explore anything says there is nothing there. Nothing works. I've tried updating the driver, says there isn't anything better then what I've got, troubleshoot hasn't helped me, can't roll back (no older drivers), nothing. I was thinking of unplugging it and re-pluggin it, but I'm not sure? Any help?
