  1. Hi everyone! Just a quick post to keep you updated. With the recent release of IE7 and Vista, it's meant a few more issues that normal have arisen. We're working hard to get the issues fixed for the next release, and I'll post it as soon as it's ready... most likely to be sometime this week. MrG
  2. I've rebuilt the current EXE with a fix. Can everyone test it to make sure it's working 100%? It's actually quite hard to test without and TEMP/TMP variables as it causes the development environment to function incorrectly. MrG
  3. Great debugging work! I'll get this fixed!
  4. F-Secure have responded with the following email: We have verified the claim and isolated the cause of the false alarm. We are already fixing the problem and will release an update as soon as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
  5. Fixed in the latest build, see the announcement. MrG
  6. Hi all, I've just uploaded a slightly revised build v1.34.407, which fixes a minor bug in foreign language versions of CCleaner. Thanks to all the French and German speaking users who emailed me. Download now from the main site. MrG
  7. Hi there, The virus or malware detection is false, we very carefully scan each release before it goes out. There are known issues that occur from time-to-time with antivirus products where they detect CCleaner and many other products as viruses or as containing malware. If these detections affect a lot of people then I post a message on the homepage highlighting the known issue and hopefully calming users worries. If your computer has been infected with a virus, then I can confidently say that it came from another source and not the CCleaner installer. MrG

    Permission

Hi, If you PM me a link to your site, then I'll let you know. MrG
  10. Just to let you know, I'm looking into the problem, but cannot replicate it easily at the moment. MrG
  11. Hi roxie, At the moment there is no way to mark one string as an exclusion, and to clean all the others. If there are specific keys you want to delete then I'd suggest copying the entire Office XP into a winapp2.ini file and then replacing the entry: RegKey9=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Access\Settings With something more specific like: RegKey9=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Access\Settings|Key1 RegKey10=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Access\Settings|Key2 This way it will always keep the key you want, remove others you don't want and it won't be overwritten when you upgrade to a new version of CC. Hope this helps MrG
  12. Don't worry it's just another false positive. I think Kaspersky need to improve their QA a little bit. I'll put a note on the homepage to let people know. MrG
  13. Can you right click on the CC icon and select "Run as administrator". And let me know if this works? MrG
  14. Hi everyone, Three bits of news today about upcoming stuff... Firstly the next release of CCleaner, v1.33, will be out this week. It will include a partial fix for the Issue Scanning bug where issues remain even after fixing them. It's partial because there are about 10% of reports that it doesn't work for which I'm still looking into whether there is a work-around. There are also several more changes... I'll post the change log when it's ready. Secondly we will be releasing a new piece of software in a couple of months. I won't give any details away until it's closer to being finished. Sorry Thirdly CCleaner v2.0 is now being planned and worked on. We're going for a semi-complete rewrite in C++, to allow unicode, 64bit and thumbdrive support. MrG
  15. Hi, If you run CCleaner with the command line parameter /debug then it will display a message box before it performs each action. Can you let me know what the last message box says before it crashes? Thanks MrG
  16. Hi all, I've isolated most of the problems, but want to make sure the fix is as wide ranging as possible. So can somebody/everybody post the exact steps they use to reproduce the problem? (Please note that only admin accounts should be used. Most issues won't be removed if a non-Admin account is used. This is a feature of the OS not a bug.) Thanks MrG
  17. Please be more specific when you say it "doesn't work properly". Thanks MrG
  18. Can you PM me a screenshot of the permissions window from one of those keys? Thanks

Hi Tosca, Thanks for the interest in donating, at the moment we only accept online donations. I'm thinking of getting a PO Box for mail donations, but haven't yet as the demand would be very low and I'm not quite sure whether it would even cover the cost. Thanks again MrG
  20. Thanks for the responses on this issue. I've attached the file for other people to test, as I want to ensure it works in as many cases as possible. Can you post your replies to this including your system specs. And please only use this file if your having problems with the Issue scanner not removing items. Thanks MrG
  21. Just checking, but did these computers have the issue before you used the latest version?
  22. Hi all... I've produced a potential fix for the Issue Scanner where issues are not getting fixed even under an admin account. But I need people who have to problem to test it. If that's you then reply to this post and I'll forward you the file to test. MrG
