  2. Hi all, A new release of CCleaner will be out this week, with performance and bug fixes. Change log will be posted shortly. The online translation tool will be also completed this week. Whilst this will be only used by translators, it will enable major updates to be released quicker, as I won't have to spend weeks compiling and emailing the different language versions. I'll post some pics if you're interested in what it looks like. Lastly I'd like mention that our most prolific poster and solver of your IT issues Tarun has now become a Moderator. That's all for now. MrG
  3. Hi all, The XP restore points aren't touched by CCleaner. I believe that XP will automatically remove old restore points to make way for new ones. But how and when this happens I don't yet know. MrG
  4. v1.31.325 - Fixed IE7 bug in Hotfix Uninstaller cleaning. - Added support for Seamonkey/Mozilla cache cleaning. - Added support for the Flock Browser. - Added more precise error checking to Tools section. - Added version information to the installer. - Tweaks to improve the quality of the icons. - Updated French Translation. - Updated NSIS Installer Engine. - Minor interface tweaks. - Minor optimization fixes. Download will go live tomorrow. MrG
  5. It's now fully patched to the latest 2.1.6 build. Thanks for the heads up! MrG
  6. Hi all, A new release of CCleaner will be out this week to fix the IE7 uninstall bug and a few other issues. Will post a changelog when it's ready. Also I've moved the Suggestions thread into it's own subforum. Thanks to TwistedMetal for that suggestion. MrG
  7. I'm agreeing with rridgely, please keep all the posts constructive otherwise the forum suffers and becomes less useful for CCleaner users. MrG
  8. Morning all, The site has had a slight redesign upload today, this is to make it slightly wider and also to make its style match the main Piriform site. I'm working on some articles, updated help and a new online tool to make the translations easier to manage, so apologies to the people who have emailed me to ask about translating into new languages, it's coming shortly. Also, probably more importantly, I'm fixing, tweaking and testing CCleaner for the next release. MrG
  9. Hi all, Unfortunately Word stores the MRU file lists along with the data settings for the program. Not ideal I know. I removed the feature in an older version, but got so many complaints about it not cleaning the Word MRU list that I added it back in, with the known issue that it removes some settings as well. If this is causing problems then its easy to remove by unchecking Office in the Applications tab. MrG
  10. My mistake, I've fixed the link.
  11. Download now from the main site! MrG
  12. The new release is nearly ready! Unfortunately a fix for IE7 Beta won't be included as it's still not working reliably. The existing code works on most IE7 installs, but some people will have issues saving cookies. The current change log is as follows: v1.30.310 - Added Opera 9 detection and cleaning. - Fixed bug in Uninstaller tool. - Fixed overflow error when Secure Deleting large files. - Fixed bug in ActiveX/COM Issue cleaning. - Updated Desktop shortcut cleaning to include Quick Launch. - Added Windows Defender cleaning. - Updated Nero Burning ROM cleaning. - Startup speed increase. - Minor bug fixes and display tweaks. Expect a release in the next few days. MrG
  13. I've isolated the problem and it will be fixed in the next release.
  14. Morning all, Just a quick post to keep everyone updated. * A new version of CC will be out in the next week or so, which will fix the remaining IE7 incompatibility and some bugs in the Uninstall tool that stops a few applications being displayed. * We've released a new redesigned Piriform website, which contains a bit more information, but is mainly to replace the very basic site that was there before. * An updated help section is close to being finished, so hopefully it will stop people asking the same questions in the forum - and also provide more useful info for everyone. MrG
  15. Hi all, With regards to Download.com I have to manually update the entry, which I've done, although it can take them anywhere up to a month to complete. Unless I give them lots of money and they'll do it the same day.
  16. Hi all, The change log for the next release is set as follows: v1.29.295 - Fixed IE 7.0 cookie cleaning. - Updated Adobe Photoshop CS2 cleaning. - Updated Ewido Anti-Malware cleaning. - Updated Nero cleaning. - Updated eTrust EZ Antivirus cleaning. - Updated Hebrew Translation. - Added Lithuanian Translation. - Added Albanian Translation. - Updated installer routines. - Minor performance improvements. I'll upload and post the release once the new installer routines have finished testing. MrG
  17. Hi all, Just a quick note to say a new version will be out next week, or maybe the end of this week. Current changes include support for IE7 cookies. MrG
  18. Please respect the moderators guys, and keep the posts on topic.
  19. Good point K, That's going to be an unknown that only Kaspersky can answer, as we don't know how their detection works. I'll try and run a few tests today. MrG
  20. Hi all... There seems to be an unresolved problem with Kaspersky's antivirus tool, as it's still flagging CCleaner as "risk ware". There is of course no virus in CCleaner. It's calling it riskware as it's finding a Process Killing function in the installer, which is used to make sure CCleaner isn't running before copying the new version across. (This is a standard feature and is used by many application installers) So far Kaspersky have been unhelpful and have not said they are working to fix the problem. Even though it will reflect badly on both our products. In fact they're not even acknowledging it is a problem. Anyway... in summary it's a false positive detection so there's nothing to worry about. MrG (If you feel like contacting Kaspersky and letting them know about the "problem" then hopefully they'll get the message.)
  21. There's an issue with 32bit programs adding entries into the 64bit part of the registry on XP64. They automatically get written to a different place. I'm looking into a solution for this. MrG
  22. Download from the main site now...
