    Forum Update

Just a quick note to say that the forum software has been updated, so let me know if you have any problems. MrG
  2. I'm back from my holiday now so I can continue work on the next release. Will keep you posted on the progress. I may start releasing beta versions publicly if people would find it useful. MrG
  3. If you leave the 'Automatically check for updates' option unchecked then this will solve the problem. Your firewall may be blocking or interferring with the data.
  4. I can't find any issues with the registry keys, it opens fine on my dev machines. Try opening it with the /DEBUG command-line parameter and let me know what the messages are.
  5. Great job guys getting this removed!
  6. That's actually not true, both versions would run at a similar speed as they rely on the same system API calls to operate. Although I agree it would be nice to have a version that operated as a single EXE with no dependencies.
  7. Although I haven't tried it, if you copy all the files from the install folder onto the pen drive, then write a batch file to register all the DLLs/OCX files - run the app - then unregister them. This should work. You can register with "regsvr32 cchelper.ocx" and unregister with "regsvr32 /u cchelper.ocx"

  9. Can you have a look and see if there are any unusually large files, or a large number of files in your temp folder?
  10. PayPal have added to ability to pay by card without having to setup an account. I'll check that this is enabled on the donations.

    Making Donations

I think PayPal have been having issues which has affected the donation system. It's seems to be better today though.
  12. The main site has been redesigned slightly as the old style was getting a bit dated. Hope you all like it. (I'll update the forum later today)
  13. Reinstall and select German under the installation language. The missing strings are because it's referring to a language DLL from an older version. MrG

  16. Several people have informed me that Mcafee is saying there's a virus in either ccsetup125.exe or in the uninst.exe file. This is a false positive, so don't panic and I'm contacting McAfee to sort out the issue. MrG

    Issue, Issues

You need to be logged in as an administrator to remove some of the issues.
  18. Yup it's true, CCleaner has now been downloaded over 10 million times! In light of this I thought I'd post a message to keep everyone informed of some upcoming changes. Firstly - "a new company" No we haven't sold CCleaner to anyone, and no we're not about to start charging for it. (don't panic) I've teamed up with a few friends to create a software company called Piriform (yup it's at piriform.com - but we've only got a logo up at the moment.) We'll be working in our spare time to improve CCleaner and hopefully begin work on another title soon. Secondly - "upcoming features" I won't go into too much detail, but these are the current major features we're working on. These were chosen based on your emails and forum posts. - Exclusions - ability to exclude items from being cleaned - Secure Delete - to prevent files being undeleted - Browser Integration - to launch CCleaner from within the browser Thanks to everyone for the support and especially the people that make this forum such a useful resource! MrG
  19. At the moment there is a slight discrepancy in the language used in the Analyze versus the Run Cleaner functions. As they use the same resource strings, whether it's future tense (will be cleaned), or past tense (has been cleaned). It's fairly minor, but I'll add it to the list.

  21. Morning all... Here's the almost final change log. It should be released tomorrow once final testing is complete. v1.25.xxx - Restyled the top of the main window. - Removed Exit button. - Added VBScript support to Ini files. - Tools/Options section buttons now stay highlighted. - Added Opera cookie cleaning. - Updated to be compatible with Windows Vista. - Fix bug in shortcut detection routine. - Optimized registry scanner routines. - Added Turkish translation. - Updated Dutch and French translations. - Minor bug fixes and optimizations. For clarification the VBScript support will allow you to add entries to ini files in the format: ScriptKey1=c:\scripts\test.vbs ScriptKey2=c:\scripts\test2.vbs I've attached a screenshot of the slightly restyled interface. I got bored of looking at the old one all day. MrG
  22. If I told you I'd spoil the surprise
  23. I'm working on a few "major features", but I don't want to release them until I'm confident they work. I'd rather have people complain that there aren't any big new features than complain they're faulty.
  24. Do they disappear from the list when you restart the program? And/or when you move away from options and then go back?
